“Awesome experience”

This was fun for everybody. Three teenage girls, my wife and I got an experience that does not happen anywhere else in the world. The guides do most of the touching of the sting rays, but we got to touch and feed them to our hearts content. This is not to be missed if you are in Grand Cayman.
If you are staying on the island, go on Saturday when the cruise ships are not there.

“Beautiful day in Grand Cayman!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Sting Ray City was the highlight of our cruise! The stingrays are so gentle. The water was crystal clear. There are a lot of tourists. But, thank God we went with Moby Dick Tours! We had a small group, great guys and plenty of interaction with these beautiful creatures! I could tell our tour guides truly love these animals and their jobs!

“Once in a Lifetime Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

We booked our day trip through Red Sail and had a great time. Even though the weather was on and off overcast, it certainly didn't put a damper on the day. My husband and I don't usually go for petting dolphins, etc., but the fact that the stingrays are in the wild and not in caged in ponds made this more appealing to us. When the catamaran reaches the sandbar (beautiful white sand in about 4' of turquoise clear water), the rays show up. Obviously, they know they'll be fed, but don't seem to mind being held and touched. The crew gives a short demonstrative of the do's and don'ts about stingrays. No, they can't sting you. Most of the larger, friendlier ones are females who have no barbs. The ones who are dangerous are Pacific Manta Rays (they stung Steve Irwin and killed him). Some of the smaller ones swim around your legs and generally avoid confrontation, but the larger females make up for it. WONDERFUL adventure for kids (not very small toddlers who cannot swim and obviously not babies). We spent about 45 minutes swimming with the rays and feeding them. Red Sail offers professional photos, but doesn't push or oversell. Their equipment is obviously waterproof so unless you have a waterproof camera, you can't really do it yourself, but they have no problem with you taking as many of your own photos as you want. You have to actually ask them to take photos for you as they don't take lots of photos and then try to sell them to you. We had one professional photo taken for $20.00 to capture the moment, and it was worth it to us. If you're wondering what stingrays feel like ... think of large wet mushrooms, but not stinky or slimy. What an adventure. Our trip included a couple of hours on Rum Cay which featured additional water sports and complimentary snorkeling equipment. You can have lunch and then enjoy the water or lie in the sun. We paid $88.00/pp and it was reasonable considering we were gone from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the afternoon. In addition, the entire crew was fun, helpful and friendly.
