“Up close and personal”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

If you plan only one activity, make the visit to Stingray City. My wife, her parents and I spent an hour with the stingrays and another hour on a nearby coral reef with Red Sail Sports via Rum Point. See Red Sail Sports review for full details, and I'd only recommend this route if you're in the Kaibo or Rum Point area.

Remembering that stingrays are a wild animal, they are to be respected for their power in the water and fragile bodies. The stingrays migrate in between boat feedings, and love the attention of a free squid meal. This activity is suited for all ages, but remember smaller children will likely be intimidated. As a diver, I could spend hours around these magnificent creatures. Consider a local company and not private boat contractor. Don't miss an opportunity like this to be up close and personal with a beautiful animal.

“always a great experience”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

its like swimming in a pool! the stingrays are amazing creatures. There is nothing to fear. We went to Sunrays tours and would recommend them over Redsail as I have been on both. I would recommend going on a weekend day when the cruise ships are not there as the amount of people will inhibit the experience

“Hugged and Mugged”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

If you are looking for an exciting adventure, DEFINITELY do not miss going to Stingray City! What FUN!! As the boats arrive on the sandbar, so do the stingrays- mommy, daddy and all the babies. They know we have food for them. LUNCH! We are given some instructions about feeding and handling the rays and then over the side we go. The rays seem to fly past your legs, bumping into you, sort of like playing tag. THe hug part was as the ray swam very close to you. The mug part was when two or three of them flew past you. One of the boat operators catches a ray and helps everyone who wants to to hold it. The looks on the faces of those holding the rays are unreal. Some look scared, others in awe. Take your snorkel and you can watch them maneuver through the people. We enjoyed this trip so much, that we went back a second time, I'd go again too.

“So cool!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

By far this is the coolest thing I have done! It is must-do attraction when in the area. We visited it on an excursion through our cruise ship and it was so much fun. The rays are like puppy dogs! They all want your attention and they cluster about. The guides were fantastic and allowed all of us to hold the rays and pet them. Just phenomenal!

“Swim and kiss and hold stingrays”
Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

A nice half day experience. A pleasant boat ride to a special area where the water is more shallow and the stingrays know they will get fed. Bring an underwater camera and take unbelievable photos of a lifetime. Bring extra money to buy the pictures they take. The photos are expensive, but they pose you and your friends holding and kissing the rays. There is also other nice snorkeling in the area and the water is crystal clear. Beware, the rays are much bigger than we tend to think they are and it may be frightening to young children.
