“Great to see in passing”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

We were happy that our cab driver stopped and pointed the blow holes out to us. We watched for a couple minutes and that was plenty. It was nice to see but not worth the trip otherwise.

“Wear good shoes for this visit”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

My wife and I drove here from Seven Mile Beach. The Blow Holes are located 1.4 miles east of Frank Sound Road. When the easterly trade winds blow hard, crashing waves force water into caverns and send impressive geysers shooting up as much as 20 feet through the ironshore. The blowholes were partially filled during Hurricane Ivan in 2004, so the water must be rough to recapture their former elemental drama. The Blow Holes provide a quiet place to stop and rest, take a picture, have a snack on the way to Grand Cayman's Northside and East End. To reach the blowholes, park in the a free lot just off the main road. Take the wooden stairs down to sea level.

Don't stand too close to the edge of these formations. Wear good shoes for this visit; the ironshore is sharp and footing isn't solid.

“Make sure you have water shoes, rocks are rough. This is on the south side of the island. there is a little pull off.”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Just watch the "blows" for a while and you can "time" some great photos! Romantic stop along the south side, and free!

“Ok. The water colors here are spectacular!”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The gushing water is ok to watch for a few minutes. The real attraction is the beautiful water. It's on the way to the East End which is much More low key and laid back than 7 mile beach.

“Fun to watch”

Interesting aquatic feature. Note the fossils in the rocks. Wear sturdy foot gear because of rocky ground.
