At the car rental place we used, there was a warning to not park here because of recent break ins. We walked from George Town and it was quite a hike. However, we enjoyed the scenery. There are bathroom facilities, picnic tables, and a shower to rinse off the salt. We enjoyed snorkeling.

We were told by a man at Rum Point this was the best place to snorkely. it was far from where we stayed but a day near seven mile beach is what brought us there. Ten times better than seven mile beach and the best snorkeling ever. Even walking on the flat rocks brought amazing views and it was just fabulous.

Snorkeled at Smith Cove. It is a very scenic area but the water was a little cloudy. Not the best place to snorkel but a nice experience.

Very scenic view. The snorkeling was average, it was a pretty windy day. Didn't feel comfortable going to far outside the cove area.

So far, it's the best beach we've found on the main island. The scenery is beautiful (with rock out-croppings) and the beach is a nice large area. They also have public restrooms and a shower to rinse all that sand off! We brought our dive gear and did an easy shore dive (45-50ft). When it's not windy, the water is super calm, so good for kids to play in the surf. There are some shade trees, but the spots get taken first. It wasn't super crowded and it was very quiet. Bring your snorkel gear and sand toys! Oh...and sunscreen...you'll want to stay so long you'll forget about those sun rays!!
It's right off of South Sound Rd (south of Georgetown)
