Owner description: Home to orchids (in bloom late May through June) and elusive iguanas as well as parrots and other birds.

We love Botanical Gardens and didn't want to miss the one on Grand Cayman. It's well maintained and nicely showcases the flora and fauna of the Caribbean islands. One whole segment is dedicated to orchids which should be in bloom around May. That must be spectacular, too bad we missed that.

Worth a visit when on the island. Saw one iguana and lots of interesting trees/plants. My son scraped his knee and a really nice gardener put fresh aloe on the cut - it really seemed to help.

We went early, 9.30. empty. enjoyed wondering around. Did see two big Iguanas, snakes and butterflies. There were some very pretty vegitation and flowering plants. Shade was available if needed. Could go round in the rain as well. Got a reduction with our National Trust card.

The blue iguanas were amazing. I so hope they continue to come back from the brink of extinction. The tropical plants and birds were all so beautiful. Bring binoculars!

If you want to see something that you never see outside a zoo, go to the Botanic Park and see the blue iguanas! Unlike the green brother, the blue iguanas were very close to extinction. This exhibit is what a government can do to help the environment. Very little money spent, volunteers were found.
This exhibit will in five years be much smaller due the great work in saving this beautiful animal.
