We arrived at the dock from our cruise an hour early and Kevin was already there waiting for us and others. There was a problem with the catamaran so Kevin and Chip took us out on their motor boat. Since there was a change of plans with the boats, Chip reduced the price of the tour which was unexpected. Also since speed of the boat was faster than the catamaran, we were able to go to an additional stop (Starfish point). Before we got in the water at Stingray city, Kevin told us about the stingrays, how to touch them and how to feed them. We were certainly one of the smaller groups that was out in the water which was nice. We also did snorkeling at a reef nearby and then we headed for Starfish point. I had never see so many starfish in the water. Again, we were told how to hold them if we choose to pick them upAlso, there were only about 3 boats anchored so it was not crowded at all. . Great experience overall.

My brother in law used Stingray Sailing previously. Kim J was on our boat. Chip met us at the dock when we got off our ship. ( I wonder what happened to that party of 5 that did not show up ?) Nice trip to the dock in his bus where we me his sister crew and it's captain ( Kevin from Kelowna B.C. Canada) Motored out to the reef for snorkeling (does anyone call it skin diving anymore ?) Passed all the ship sanctioned boats ( about 1200 people) at the sandbar. We sorkeled at the reef with the 20 from our boat, and 5 people from another boat. Moved to the sandbar when the crowd thinned out. Chip feeds the Stingrays fish rather than squid. Draws them like flies ! A fresh fruit snack while we sailed back. Great guys to chat with ( Chip, his dad and Kevin) Just don't ask about Steve Irwin ! I highly recommend Stingray sailing over the ship excursions. It's even less expensive !

Chip met us at the dock where he said he would. Led us to his clean air conditioned van and drove us to the marina. There were only 12 guests on this excursion leaving plenty of room on his catamaran. His dad is his mate. When we arrived at Stingray City, Chip maneuvered the boat around all the cattle boats loaded with cruise ship excursions and found a great spot away from the crowds. As soon as we got in the water the stingrays found us! There must have been thirty or forty rays visiting our small group and we all had plenty of opportunity to interact with them. Chip seems to have a special relationship with the rays and recognizes many of them by name (sounds corny but many have distinctive markings or scars). We had plenty of time with the rays and then did a short snorkel over some coral areas. It was rough on the main reef that day so we weren't able to go there. It was then raise the sails and a lovely trip back to the marina. We made it back to the cruise pier with several hours to spare. We wouldn't think of picking any other tour company for this trip than Stingray Sailing. Chip showed us a great time.

We used Chip and his company July 2013. We had an excellent time then. We went again taking another couple with us. Chip was on time like the last, friendly as usual. His dad accompanied us on this trip. The boat had about 18 of us and we weren't crowded at all. There were families with teenagers and couples of all ages on board with us. When we got to Stingray Island there were other boats with 40-80 people on them. I felt grateful to have found a smaller company and not one of those that use the cruise ship.
We spent roughly 45 min feeding, holding and swimming with the rays. Take a water/video camera. Chip is very knowledgeable about the rays and respects them. Feeding and holding the rays is an amazing experience.
After the stingrays we were off to snorkel close by at the reefs. We saw some beautiful fish and coral. Take your own gear if you want. However they have some for you to use. We swam there for 45min or so then boarded the vessel to head back to the marina.
On the way back in we ran into an issue with the boat. Chip handled it very professionally and even called his friend to come get us with another boat while he handled the problem. We all were boarded onto the other boat in a short matter of time and headed into the marina. We were grateful things went smoothly. This did not ruin our impression of this company and we will be back!!!

Made us feel comfortable from the moment we met Chip. Kept to a good time schedule, we were missing a party of five from our boat and we waiting until the last minute with still being respectful to the rest of the group.
Born and raised on the island a great family company. Very knowledgable of the island and marine life.
Great boat, not crowded at all, he had a great relationship with the stingrays, respecting them and their habitat...
Very personable trip, way better deal that the sanctioned cruise ship excursions..
