Description: Café Del Sol (which is Spanish for "Coffee of the Sun") was established in July 4, 2001 as the first internet coffeehouse of its kind in the Cayman Islands. The whole idea behind the company was to provide an inviting yet relaxing "third place" for our customers (home being the first and work the second). It has truly become a place that you can "find yourself" as the company slogan suggests. Cayman's favourite Coffee Shop Café del Sol is a daily necessity for local coffee addicts, a place to meet friends or simply somewhere to get lost in your favourite book. Not only do we offer the best prepared coffee in the Cayman Islands, we also offer a delicious selection of sweet treats and savoury snacks, as well as an assortment of teas and other beverages.

Once again I enjoyed superb fresh fruit smoothies at Cafe del Sol. The smoothies are fresh, not to sweet and ice cold. The best! ....and cheaper than anywhere else. Way to Go Cafe del Sol!

Cafe de Sol has 4 locations in Grand Cayman. My sister and I visited Bayshore and Fort Street, just a very short walk from the dock. The coffee was amazing and the staff friendly, the cafe is super clean and the internet access much appreciated! I recommend a visit to Cafe de Sol to anyone and everyone visiting Georgetown Grand Cayman. Oh, and the pastries are fresh with an excellent selection.

My family and I went to Cafe del Sol 3 days in a row for lunch. The bread was awesome, the frappes were great, and the sandwich system was interesting, yet clever. The chips were also delicious. I definitely recommend this cafe in Cayman Islands.

We purchased take out of salad and cake when the man short changed me by giving me two one dollar notes instead of two ten dollar notes. I felt this was deliberate act. No apology offered when questioned.

A Tuna Salad $7 (some other salads $6), a slice of cake $5 for a total of either $11 or $12. Cayman uses a $1, $5, $10, $25 or $50 bill.

CI$ is $1.25 to US $1.00... US currency is $1,$5,$10,$20 and $50.

There is no combination of currency, either Cayman or US with the above purchase that would have entitled the reviewer to ... two ten dollar bills in change.

Paying with a US $20 bill ($16 CI) would have entitled the reviewer to either $4 or $3 in change.

Paying with a CI $25 bill would have entitled the reviewer to either $13 or $14 in change.

Clearly there was a misunderstanding either about pricing, the bill used, or the exchange rate but Cafe del Sol prides itself on customer service and the electronic Point-of-Sale system automatically displays the amount tendered and the change due to the customer.

Cafe del Sol's locations around Grand Cayman serve thousands of customers per day and if there is an occasional dispute employees are always instructed to assume the customer is right.

We are sorry for the misunderstanding you had and it would indeed appear that our employee acting correctly by giving you the change you felt you were entitled to.
