Perfect setting next to the pool, overlooking the sea.
Service attentive but not over bearing.
Wonderful.

“The TWO best meals of our BVI trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2014

Arriving after mooring at Peter Island, the views were breathtaking from the bar area overlooking the beautiful endless pool and beautiful Sprat Bay. Initially disappointed to hear that a buffet was the only Saturday evening choice, we were quickly reassured by our servers and the scarcity of available tables. Our group of food lovers were astounded by the endless fresh, fresh fish, from sushi to raw bar including yummy crab claws and ahi tuna as well as grilled Mahi. Carved to order prime beef, hot or cold vegetables, bountiful fruits and salads provided excellent succulent choices for every palate. Service was unobtrusive and wines were excellent. Homemade bananas foster, made to order was the favorite of many, many sampled desserts. Returning a few nights later with a larger group we were just as well pleased ordering from the regular menu. A great place for a special occasion.

“Great food, small portions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014

We moored at Peter Island the last night of our sailing trip. The resort at Peter Island is beautiful and we enjoyed some drinks on the beach down by Deadman's Beach Bar and Grill. Unfortunately we could not have dinner at the Bar and Grill (there was an event that night) so we ate at Tradewinds Restaurant. The food was delicious and presented well. Portions were small and food expensive. We enjoyed the meal overall.

“Worth the trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

We moored at Peter Island for the night and had a spectacular meal. The service, wine list and food presentation were top-notch. Our group tried caviar, lobster spring rolls, Mahi, Halibut, pork chop, coconut chicken, blackened cod and wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil. Every dish that came out was delicious! Would absolutely return.

“Tradewinds Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

TRADEWINDS RESTAURANT AT PETER ISLAND

Peter Island’s Resort rates include Full American Plan – that is breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Soft drinks, water and beer that is stocked in your minibar are complimentary, but if you order these at the bar or restaurant, there is an additional charge.
Meals are served at Tradewinds Restaurant and also at Deadman’s Beach Bar and Grill. Since occupancy was low during our stay, only one restaurant opened each evening. The Gala Buffet and Caribbean night that usually take place weekly at Deadman’s Beach did not take place.
Tradewinds is the more formal restaurant on the hillside near the pool and oceanview suites. It has a few rooms that surround an open air plaza and outdoor bar. All overlook the water. You can choose the air conditioned rooms or enjoy outdoor dining with warm breezes.
At breakfast you can enjoy a buffet with an array of delicious pastries, breads, fresh fruit, meats and cheeses, hot and cold cereals and an omelet station or you can order a la carte. We especially enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and their famous "Jeanne Kelly French Toast’". Jeanne told us that it’s not "her" recipe but that it was named in her honor for being the oldest employee at the resort. She’s been at Peter Island since 1984 – what a vibrant lady and great ambassador for Peter Island – everyone loves her.
Back to the French Toast – made with resort baked bread sliced thick and soaked in a sweet egg, cream, coconut milk mixture. So sweet and yummy, served with fresh sliced oranges and sprinkled with toasted coconut.. A not to be missed dish.
A pre-dinner cocktail at the bar followed by dining under the stars listening to the water lapping at the rocks is both enjoyable and very romantic. Service is very professional yet extremely friendly - even the food and beverage manager visits each table to make sure that all is perfect.
Our favorites were Seared Tuna appetizer, Rack of Lamb, and their homemade ice cream. Steaks are cooked perfectly as ordered and portions are very generous. Most dishes feature Caribbean flavoring either in the way of spice rubs or a fruity accompaniment.
The food and setting are wonderful – a bit of music would make it heavenly.
