“Paradise off the beaten path.”
Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

We sailed to Anegada and took a cab to Loblolly for the day. The snorkeling is good but the views from the beach are spectacular. There are public showers available for a reasonable price and a modest restaurant and bar just yards from the beach. It was my second trip to Loblolly and very much worth the trip.

“Great views, fair snorkeling”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Yes, it's pretty famous and the biggest tourist stop on the island. But the REALLY good snorkeling id almost 1/4 mile off shore. The current can be strong and if you get anxious at all, you WON'T be comfortable going that far out. Farther in, I DID swim with a barracuda and a sting ray. Pretty cool on both. The inland reefs are just OK but my wife and I saw some really cool fish. The view of the bay is really incredible and worth the trip if you have never been. The Big Bamboo restaurant is fine but don't expect gourmet anything. Burger; fish, or chix tenders are all American style and just OK. The atmosphere is as laid back as it gets and if you can't unwind here, you need help. Ask the bartender for his magnifying glass and use it to focus the sun onto a piece of driftwood to burn your name and then tack it up on his bar. Then you're an alumni!!

Beautiful, nearly deserted beach. Wide, with pink sand. The people who brought snorkeling equipment were having the time of their lives. Little restaurant there had great service, good drinks, and very nice staff.

We took the ferry to Anegada for a day-trip while visiting Virgin Gorda.
We rented a jeep and explored the island on our own.
Loblolly Bay was the first beach we stopped at on Anegada. Wow!
Its at the end of dirt road about 20 minutes from ferry dock. We parked in front of the Flash of Beauty Bar. They have some chairs with shade set up at the beach. Drinks were cold and reasonable priced.
The beach was almost deserted with only about 6 other people there.
The water was beyond beautiful with different shades of blue and green.
The coral is close to the beach and the snorkeling was excellent. We saw lots of fish and we even saw a 6' reef shark. Its one of the best places we have ever snorkeled at. There was a little undertow with the current, nothing too bad but be careful.
You are able to walk at least a mile on the beach without running into any buildings.
It's a perfect beach/island setting.
