“Happy in the End”

Arriving after a long day on the road the house was very cold and I suppose I was expecting to be able to flick a switch to warm it up.
Though there was a responsive electric radiator in the living room, the two electric radiators upstairs in the bedroom were unresponsive and never worked, (as I understand it from Rich our Host, they are really there to stop the place from freezing when it is unoccupied) and the switch on the blower heater in the bathroom was temperamental and finally failed after a couple of days, so it failed to warm up the cold bathroom. Our Host knows about the switch and said he would be ordering a replacement.
When we got it going, the fire did warm up the house nicely. But we were only given enough fuel for that day with instructions on where to purchase more. We didn't feel that we should have to work the fire and also find, and buy the necessary coal and wood in order to get some needed heat. When I emailed our Hosts they were very responsive and came through the following day with enough fuel for the rest of our stay, and they also provided us with a portable electric heater that worked very well and supplemented the heating very well when it was needed.
I found the hot water to be very scary. One mistake would, I am sure, result in 3rd degree burns. There are warning signs at all the taps, but surely, it's possible to control it better? Children would be in grave danger. I did not mention this to them because I have found this to be a problem related to British plumbing before.
The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. I loved the washing machine that was also a dryer - very necessary given the climate.
So basically, our main issue was with heating, and it was taken care of swiftly by our Hosts.
They had stocked the cottage for us with some milk in the fridge to get us started, and a lovely Welsh cake called a Bara Brith ( very yummy) and a nice bottle of wine. Thank you Angie and Rich.
We enjoyed our stay there, it was a very central location for our exploration of Snowdonia and North Wales.
I guess I didn't really understand in the property description that the primary heating was fuel driven and there was no real central heating.

“A wonderful cozy cottage surrounded by the beauty of Snowdonia”

My partner and I stayed here with our border collie and could not have asked for a more lovely cottage. The wood burner made the long rainy evenings so cozy, the bed was very comfortable and roomy and the shower is powerful and warm. Everything you will need for a stay is provided, including tea and coffee, a little welcome pack, dvds, games and even spices! It was clean and welcoming when we arrived, the cottage is set out in such a beautiful way, I couldn't think of a better place we could have spent our long weekend. They have been incredibly gracious in accommodating for our dog, it is such a relief that there are dog friendly cottages out there. Just want to say a huge thank you, will absolutely love to come back to explore more!

“An ideal getaway”

This cottage was marketed as a romantic getaway and would be an excellent place for a couple.
I wanted somewhere quiet but not too isolated as I was travelling alone. The location is ideal for exploring Snowdonia although your do need a car.
The cottage was perfect for that as it's in a small village. It was beautifully appointed and very well equipped.
The owners had left welcoming gifts which I felt was a lovely touch too.

“A perfect retreat for a romantic getaway”

The one bedroom cottage is an excellent choice for a 2-person (or even solo if you're a walker for example ??) getaway from it all. Warm, comfortable and with all amenities you really couldn't ask for more.....and a log burning stove to add to the ambience !!!
Really comfortable bed in a good-sized bedroom and the only downside is the cottage is a bit out of town,,,,,,though, in all honesty, i don't think the town has much to offer on a night time.....better to get a few drinks in and just enjoy the homely feel of the place.....OR, if its summer, sit out in the garden and enjoy the scenery....and each other's company.
Loved every minute of it !!
