After watching the development of this resort over the last two years, we were curious to go check it out. So my husband and I tied up our little 12 ft dinghy next to one of the 100 foot yachts and walked up to the impeccably manicured grounds. We were greeted by Gwenalina, who was so kind and showed us around the club. We sat and had a drink next to the infinity pool overlooking the North Sound. Later we met Keith, the general Manager and had a delightful chat. My husband and I enjoyed our short visit so much, that we came back to celebrate our anniversary a week later! Fabio prepared an incredible meal and again, we had a very pleasant visit with Keith. YCCS is certain to be a regular stop on our future trips to the BVI!

If you are in the B.V.I. and close to North Sound, Virgin Gorda, there is a stunning new yacht club that is well worth a visit for a memorable afternoon or evening. Yacht Club Costa Smeralda is currently open to the public, and offers a dining experience, amenities, and friendly and skilled staff that is unique to the British Virgin Islands. A magnificent setting, elegant, contemporary architecture and grounds, the capacity to handle mega yachts, and regattas that involve that world's elite maxi racers contribute to the international yachting culture that so permeates this extraordinary new facility.

I can't believe that we would have almost missed the wonderful experience of dining in this excellent restaurant as we were given the false impression that it was for members only....NOT the case! The minute we arrived and docked our boat to the marina, we had the feeling it was going to be an unforgettable evening...the place looked absolutely stunning!
Upon arriving at the restaurant we were immediately welcomed by its delightfully warm and friendly staff -Yulia, Shirby, Stacey - who tended to our every need at all times, were very knowledgeable about the menu and provided exemplary service!
We ordered deep-fried calamari, shrimps, mixed salad and onion rings for starters, followed by steak, salmon ,penne pasta with house-made sausage and eggplant parmigiana as main courses and finished with ice-cream and a fruit salad...paired with a french red wine Crozes Hermitage from their wide selection...everything was beautifully presented and exquisitely delicious, to say that our palates were satisfied would be an understatement! The chefs and Roxanne, the person in charge of the restaurant's kitchen, did a really wonderful job. Simply excellent!
And last but not least...the fantastic cocktails! Instead of going for the usual choices in cocktails, we opted for two ''Kalliopi'' (pink grapefruit sorbet with Aperol, Cointreau and lemon vodka) and two ''Muse'' (Port, Campari, fruit punch, martini rosso and vodka) cocktails which were created by the restaurant's maitre d' and very talented mixologist...absolutely refreshing!
The food was of very high quality yet not overpriced, the service was excellent, the view absolutely stunning! Highly recommended for an unforgettable experience in the Carribean!

Finally organizing our last Summer's stops after 2.5 months aboard the boat. We stopped at YCCS twice last Summer, the first time was my daughter's 7th birthday. The staff was great, but the crowd was just us and another yacht. Keith the manager was extremely accommodating and explained the "previous history" of YCCS and why we feared to go there.
Our next stop was with guests from New York that have been aboard the boat many times and have very high standards, the reaction was "can we come back tomorrow".

In the islands it is hard to get a good hamburger, but YCCS's was awesome, home made bun and not a frozen patty. It was about $4 more than other places, but worth the price. The beers are $5, which is one of the cheapest spots in North Sound, rumor was they were $18 at some point.

Great VIEW!

While staying in a private house in Leverick Bay in June 2012, we were picked up by boat for lunch (arranged the prior day with Joan, the bartender, when we wandered over from Fat Virgin). We arrived at 11:00 am and stayed till after 6pm! We had a wonderful lunch served by the pool, relaxed in the luxury of the cushioned chairs under umbrellas, sat in the infinity pool, enjoyed cocktails all day...it was the highlight of our trip. One of our friends preferred to sit inside the air conditioned parlor with his book- and was equally happy. We were treated like royalty and waited on hand and foot. An absolutely beautiful view. The yacht club was newly opened in January and was still partially under construction. Keith, the general manager, sat with us by the pool and entertained us with stories of his life. We understand that YCCS is very formal and exclusive during high season - so we were happy to have had our special day during their low season! A perfect day!!
