“A Great Dining Experience”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

We enjoyed a great lunch at this new beautiful spot on Virgin Gorda. The views are amazing overlooking the ocean, the boulders and the tropical plants. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. The decor of the restaurant is tropical with a fine design. We look forward to returning.

“Best on VG”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

I've been to VG many, many times. I used to say that it is a wonderful destination but don't expect to be wowed by the food. Little Dix has always been hit and miss while The Rock and Chez Bamboo were nice venues but the food always failed to impress.

I'm happy to say that CocoMaya has changed all that. Food, service and ambiance are all EXCELLENT.

Keep up the good work!

“Sophisticated dining, great service, literally on a Beach”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Terrific, delicious sophisticated tapas (small plate) tasting menu served in a contemporary dining room with natural, island building materials located right on the beach. You can even relax with drinks sitting on a chaise lounge within feet of the water. The main floor is the primary dining room and upstairs includes large, lounging couches for relaxing before dinner or later with your after dinner drinks. Every item we ordered had something unexpected, creative and delicious going on whether it was a vegetable, meat, fish, or seafood! The bar had the most extensive selection we saw on our visit, including fruit infused liquors for their special martinis. This was the most memorable dinner of our week long visit to Virgin Gorda.

“A real winner and nice people”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Coco Maya opened in the summer of 2012 so this was their first Christmas season. We ate there on 12/28 and they were out of lobster and a few other things, so hopefully they will gauge their food stock better as time goes on. It's a great location and setting. Extremely open on two sides, right on the beach. There is a small fire pit in the sand with couches for lounging. If you can't relax there, then you are hopeless. Could get dicey with real wind, rain, and perhaps heat, but of course we had none of those issues.
The food was a cleverly considered and aspires to Asian-Latin fusion. If you don't like chili powder, pay attention to the menu and ask them to soften up the dishes, including the edamame. Terrific fish options, delicious shrimp curry appetizer, our diverse party of 7 all enjoyed their food. Snapper was prepared perfectly and course size was adequate. Comfortable for kids. Corkage was available. NIce bar space with aesthetic tree/lighting behind. Almost has a Miami vibe with soft techo beat music in the background and the Latin influenced menu.
Met one of the owners, a young woman from Vancouver, and her sister was also helping at our table. Very personable and committed to the restaurant. We are pleased to recommend and would definitely return.
