Loved Saba Rock as a quick stop to sit and mingle with the locals and when I say locals I don't mean VG natives I mean the people that own the yachts and homes in VG. It's open, airy and clean. They have a fish feeding which is very interesting and an aquarium where you can see eels and other sea life. They have a nice gift shop for jewelry, books and tshirts. Definitely a must do when in VG. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

Saba rock is a great place to celebrate another day in paradise. Great happy hour, tarpon feeding and a safe place to moor add up to a great time. I highly recommend watching the Tarpon being fed at 6 PM every day. Their gift shop is also one-of-a-kind and not to be missed as it has some of the treasures from the Atocha wreck.

Thursday 22 May 2014 as our second visit to Saba Rock first was on the 20th for a drink only. We were excited to return to enjoy the view from the lovely north deck and hammocks in the beautiful garden. We had a gift card to use so we decided to also have dinner. I understand Island time and actually embrace it but our waitress was rude, not even borderline rude as g s from Denver had reviewed. Like g s I too had fish tacos and fries and would give them the same review. Champagne and drinks were good but all were served with a scowl.

The food was very good, the service was good, but best of all is the setting. If you manage to get a table by the water for dinner, you can watch the fish swimming by thanks to underwater lights.

If you visit during the day there is a lovely seating area at the rear of the restaurant which is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the views.

Located on a small island near the bitter end it feels like you are arriving at a very special place as you arrive in your dinghy. Three out of the four meals we ordered were great, the tacos were mediocre and they were accompanied by fries that had clearly been made days earlier and warmed before being served. The servers were clearly on "island time", and borderline rude. Overall it's hard to fault Saba Rock because of its idyllic location, beautiful scenery and open airy feel.
