We stayed in the 2-bedroom villa, which was roomy, well-furnished and comfortable. Each bedroom and the living room had an ocean-facing deck, with cool breezes at night.

Our package came with an excellent "continental breakfast," which was different each day at the chef's whim. If one doesn't like what the chef prepares, the fallback option is granola and yoghurt. The dinner menu was reasonably priced and good, but not great. I think the chef tries hard. This is commendable, because the dining options in the area are limited. There is a grocery store in Soper's Hole where one can by provisions, if one wants to cook.

The resort has one tennis court (in very good shape), which we used regularly. The resort also has a very attractive beach and a small freshwater pool.

Finally, the staff were helpful and friendly, although we found the small office was frequently unattended.

We would defintely come back, and we recommend the villa for a familiy or two couples.

We went for our honeymoon in late July and had a blast. They were winding down for the season and we had the place almost to ourselves. Staff was very friendly but not overbearing. We were treated as guests, not just customers. They were very generous with breakfasts. The house was very nice and the kitchen made quiet nights at home very do-able. Rent a car. The island is great but you need to drive places.

Room Tip: Bed was comfortable, but temperature was hard to regulate.

My husband and I spend 13 nights at Frenchmans and would have liked to stay even longer. Chris and Julisa did so much to make our stay easy and relaxed! I loved sitting on our porch in the afternoons and evenings. We went diving most mornings and left the property early - so we did not have the included breakfast except once. It was exceptional!

We made our own breakfast in our kitchen and many of our own dinners too. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were able to get most things we wanted at the local grocery stores, which made cooking a snap.

The bedrooms are air-conditioned and the beds are super-comfortable.

I look forward to returning to this property again.

Room Tip: We stayed in two of the rooms - because of a late change I made in the number of days we would be st...

You will have a unique experience at the Frenchman’s. It is a full service hotel with only 9 rooms. If you want privacy or do not like people this is the place to go. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. It was plenty big for four girls. Every floor had outdoor space and a view of the ocean. The living room furniture was too large and uncomfortable for the space and the downstairs bathroom was dark but besides that the room was very nice. They only have one ac unit in the living room for all three floors which was ok but not great. The breakfast was my favorite meal of the day. The chef offers his selection or granola and yogurt. No choices but we really didn’t care because everything tasted delectable. We had dinner there once. It was a little pricey but very good. You have to make reservations otherwise they will just close the restaurant when they want to. One waitress, one bartender and one chef. The restaurant is not open for lunch. I recommend buying snacks, lunch stuff and wine at the market in the marina Sopers Hole. Avoid Pussers, the restaurant in the marina. Terrible service and one waitress actually argued with us when we asked for change (most places add tip to the bill). The roads are windy and scary so we didn’t rent a car. Cabs are expensive because you get charged per person so for four people to go out to dinner it usually was 80 round trip. We used Captain Paul as our cab driver for the week and he was very reliable. The beach at the hotel is small and nice. They do not have a gym at the hotel and it is very hot so it was hard to work out. Made service was mediocre. The front desk and restaurant wait staff were just awesome. One thing you cannot go here and not do is the full moon party at the Bomba Shack. It is only once a month so plan according. People drink mushroom tea and there usually is a good band that you can dance too. The best thing about the BVI’s is you can visit all of the islands in one trip. The ferry in town goes to all islands almost every day. Go to Virgin Gorda for the baths and dinner, Jost Van Dyke for the beach bars, pristine beaches, yachters and snorkeling. Anegada is a must for snorkeling. The whole island is built on Coral. Only 600 people live on the island. They have a serve yourself honor bar which only heightens the amazing experience. I felt really safe on all of these islands. I wouldn’t waste time going downtown Tortola because it is just a bunch of clothing shops. Fly into St Thomas to save money and ferry over.

My family truly enjoyed every minute of our stay! We were guests for 5 nights and appreciate the care and insight offered by
Nadia, one of the best hotel managers I've encountered. She offered to help us plan our stay before we even arrived.
Once we were settled in Villa- Lime, which was very clean and spacious, we met Lucilla, who served us delicious French-press coffee and great breakfasts every day. Our thanks to the chef, whom we did not meet but cannot escape our gratitude. Kayaks were available to use in the hotel's small but safe lagoon. The views were incredible and we fell asleep each night to ocean breezes and the sounds of the waves. We rarely even used the A/C. Dinner was great but could use the addition of some "kid- friendly" entrees(simple stuff- burgers, pasta) the house keepers also shined as we never had ask for anything but more Fuji water.
We prefer places like Frenchman's: polished yet laid back, great location, yet quiet. We thought Frenchman's was a great value( thanks, Luxury-Link!)and would recommend it to anyone who needs to relax and enjoy their BVI vacation. My 10 y/old enjoyed the free Wifi, as did we. Check with Nadia to be sure the restaurant is available during your stay- some nights were pre-booked and we had to find off property dining.
Within walking distance of Soper's hole marina and shops.
In short, we loved Frenchman's!

We, like many others, stayed at Frenchmans for our honeymoon. The resort is small with beautifully decorated villas, a pool, beach, tennis court and very close to the west end ferry stop and Soper's Hole. The restaurant was amazing; the chef is very impressive as we loved the breakfast specials, the happy hour fish tacos and our best dinner on Tortola at the Clubhouse. The staff was very warm and helpful and Lucilla and Karen were wonderful and took care of us for breakfast, drinks and dinner. The snorkeling right next to the point is likely the best on Tortola and the day trips to Jost Van Dyke and Norman Island were great (sadly, we missed Virgin Gorda so we'll just have to go back :). Also, we had a rental car which Frenchman's set up for us and allowed us to explore the island and beaches like Smuggler's Cove, Brewer's beach on our schedule. This is the perfect place if you are looking for a low stress, beautiful place to stay on Tortola.

When you need to escape from the world, but also need certain creature comforts, Frenchmans delivers an inimitable experience.

All views are incredible and serene. The service is friendly and insightful. The villas are clean and modern. There is nothing wrong with Frenchmans. Especially helpful was the stocking of our refrigerator prior to our arrival as there is no escaping without a car.

I would suggest snorkeling in the protected cove and venturing out to the open sea for some spectacular views of underwater flora and fauna.

Frenchmans does not disappoint and one will always have a great time in its care.

Room Tip: All the villas have astounding views, but I can speak personally for the views from 'Lime'.
