“Great place to charter a boat, shop, eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

This is a beautiful marina on West End Tortola, where we sailed with Voyages 3 days. We also chartered with Jost Van Dyke scuba and they picked us up here. The people in all the shops are friendly and there is even a full market to buy food, for those renting places on the island. Pusser's has a restaurant there, also Fish & Lime and it is quite the sceen! We had a great time coming and going from Sopper's hole. The ferry terminal is here too - how convenient is that?

“Nice Marina with Lots of Shops”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2013

Nice marina with lots of shops and restaurants, it was a nice change of pace, to shop and purchase a few things, buy post cards, use the post office there, plus they have a pretty large grocery store there with a deli upstairs. We were able to restock all the items we required for the remainder of our sailing adventure.

“Convenient for land or sea based visitors..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

Soper's Hole on Frenchmans Cay at West End, Tortola offers a wide variety of activity's...
There are shops, dining, terrace bar, coffee shop and Harbour Market , an outpost of Riteway supermarkets which has a wide selection, with same prices as Road Town,, Additionally several day sail and term charter yacht company's operate from the marina.
My favorite store Sunny Caribbee Spice Co. has a smaller version of their Road Town store there, great spices , sauces and artwork.... Pusser's also has a store, restaurant and bar as well.. featuring their Pain Killer.... Soper's Hole is simply a great place to go, hang around, and enjoy the breeze...

“Convenient marina/shopping for the "Westenders"!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

This marina/shopping plaza is a nice addition for those of us staying out on the West End. There is a nice little grocery store, a wonderful breakfast/lunch cafe, D'Best Cup (see my review), a few shops to pick up that souvenir, a Pusser's bar/shop, dive shop, bathrooms and a marina office where you can book trips out of and a small, but free place to park your car.
We experienced a few of these shops:
Loved D'Best Cup (see my review) for breakfast.
Tried to rent SUP's (stand up paddle boards) for my family of 4 from Island Surf and Sail but the guy we spoke with (who said he was the owner) said he did not like to rent daily but preferred to rent weekly due to the hassle of delivery. We rented from Breeze Paddle Surf 284-443 9663 instead where he delivered 4 boards at $20/hour. It was wonderful! I say if Surf and Sail do not want to rent SUP's daily then take them off your website.
Harbor Market is a great little grocery store for the area. It is not as big as you will find in Road Town but it is pretty good for the West End.
Blue Water Divers II~ we ended up renting 4 sets of snorkeling equipment there. The owner was quick and friendly and we left there with snorkels in hand a new "rash" shirt for one of the teenagers. It has a nice BVI dive logo on it which she loved. The owner, again, was helpful with sizing. As to the equipment rentals……just check out the snorkels before you leave. We did have to return once due to the "snorkel keeper" of all things and would have returned another day except we ended up returning the gear early on due to a sail trip where they included the snorkel gear. Have to admit that little tiny piece of gear was a real pain. The type we are familiar with and have used for years are little rubber pieces that basically wrap around the snorkel/mask securely. The type of snorkel keeper the Blue Water Diver II use are plastic which kept pulling from the masks. This was quite annoying as diving down was fine but when returning to the surface kept pulling free from our masks! One snorkel set kept pulling off the mask as my daughter was just snorkeling on the surface and we noticed the plastic piece was bent out of shape and would never be secure so we returned it. So, just a word of caution………..ask for the rubber snorkel keepers as it gets to be a pain having to run to Soper's Hole because of a little tiny snorkel keeper.
Marina Office~we used it to book our snorkel/sail trip with Mystique (review pending). The woman at the desk was wonderful! Very cheerful and personable. Able to answer all of our questions and showed us on a flat screen a little of what we could expect. Great person for that desk!
Marina public bathrooms at end of dock~clean! :)
The other shops were really nice to look around in and pick up a couple of souvenirs. The staff were all friendly.
Definitely worth a stop if your out that way!

“Thieves broke in to our boat while sleeping and stole our passports and property.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

It ruined our vacation. We chartered a catamaran from The Moorings (great place) from July 13 to July 20, 2013 and visited most of the BV Islands. We decided to finish off our tour in Sopper's Hole because it was a centric location. The last night of the trip a thief/prawler broke in to our boat WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING and stole our property including passport, iphone, ipad, sunglasses, clothing... When we notified Sopper's Hole office they did not help at all; they said that it was not their responsibility and even insisted to charge us for our stay.
It is sad that a wonderful vacation was ruined because of a POOR SECURITY issue.
.....However the Marina has a great Supermarket and nice stores.
Recommendation: DONT STAY THERE!!!! If you do, WATCH YOUR PROPERTY!!!!!!
