We loved our day with Captain Chris and Adam! We were a family of 5 (2 adults and kids ages 11, 15 and 18). They treated us so well and made us very comfortable and happy. The ship is just a beauty and we all got a great sense of sailing the islands. Our family also did a commercial catamaran trip (the Aristocat). Although that was very nice, it was too crowded and much of the time used a motor. We were much more thrilled with our day on the White Squall. They treated us to a terrific lunch (truly excellent food) at the Willy T and the kids all loved jumping off the back of the restaurant bow (it's actually a ship as well). Chris even gave my daughter a mini sailing lesson of sorts, which she loved. We were very comfortable, the snorkeling was great, and it was just a wonderful day! We would definitely sail the Squall again on our next visit.

White Squall II was not my first choice, but will be from now on when visiting Tortola. I typically go for the more modern vessels that can zip you, in style, from one snorkel/beach spot to the next. The idea of a slower. older, wooden boat was not so appealing. Then we got on board. It was like stepping onto a 40's movie set. Wood deck, iron fittings, and massive canopy. Captain Chris and his assistant Adam gave us safety instructions, and then set off for Norman Island. About 20 minutes in they raised sails, cut the diesel engine, and let the vessel ramble its way toward our destination. When you're back at the office, this is what you daydream of when wishing you were in the Caribbean. Travel time each way runs about an hour fifteen minutes. It's an unhurried and soothing approach to a snorkel trip. Lunch at Willie T's was included (food is fresh but average). Adam put us in the dinghy for a trip to the newly renovated restaurant in Pirate's Bight. Excellent beach, views and snorkeling. At $110, an exceptional value.

My wife and I were lucky enough to have the whole boat to ourselves on a recent full day sail. We had a great time puttering around Norman Island, getting lunch at Willy T's, and snorkeling in various protected reefs. I highly recommend the trip for anyone who wants to escape the plastic fantastic of the catamaran charters and get out on the water in a proper boat with some serious history.

My wife and I have been visiting the BVI for many years, but our day on the White Squall II was a new highlight. Captain Chris is great fun, full of excellent information about the ship and the surrounding islands, and a great cook to boot. His mates Adam and Michelle took very good care of us, from the snorkling sites to the rum punch, and helped get everyone caught up in the excitement of sailing a majestic old ship through some of the best scenery on earth. Had a great day!! Met Captain Chris, 1st Mate Adam and Stewardess Michelle at 9am on Village Cay Marina. Beautiful old ship. We sailed across the Francis Drake Channel to The Caves (Norman Island) where we enjoyed snorkelling - shoals of fish and some lovely brain coral. Having built up an appetite after the sail and snorkel we visited the notorius Willy T which is bar / restaurant anchored in The Bight. After lunch and some caribbean refreshments we were taken to another snorkel site - again so much to see before a leisurely sail back to Village Cay. The crew were excellent, ice cold refreshments on offer, and Captain Chris (a little camera shy) offered interesting information about the ship and islands. Anyone who visits Tortola should include a day sail on White Squall II - such a contrast to catamaran sailing. Suitable for young and older persons - good value for money. Thank you to the crew for a most enjoyable sailing experience.
