It was a classic basic pre-boating hotel.
However, the entire Island still looks like a giant had just swept his hand over the surface of the whole island.
The hurricane had hit 9 month's ago but the island is doing a great job struggling back.
The issues were not the hotel's fault.
The hotel was just fine, staff was extremely helpful. The Peg Leg Restaurant was destroyed in the hurricane so they just set up big tents and called it the Out Door Bar and BarBQ. Great time. Everyone was great!

Thanks so much for coming back and visiting us again (guessing from your review you have been here before) and showing your support not just to Nanny Cay but also to the BVI community at large. We're really happy you got to experience our new "feet in the sand" beach restaurant which has been great new addition to the Nanny Cay Resort and Marina. We hope to see you again soon.

A friend and I had 2 rooms for 4 nights. The reception area was welcoming. The staff had moments of warmth but for the most part are very cool and seem bothered by us being there. The hotel was not in great condition before the hurricane, and now needs to be totally replaced. Only a few of the first floor rooms seem useable. Our rooms were old and outdated, though clean with new beds that were great. No TV. Wonderful location with great beach bar, good food, and super breakfast at the water front restaurant. The Moorings room are far superior.

Thanks for your review. As you noted the hotel needs work and this work is underway. We are in the process of replacing the roof which was mostly destroyed by the hurricanes, and have gutted the entire second floor which was also destroyed. The downstairs rooms suffered a fair amount of damage but as you said are clean and comfortable, although in need of updating and renovations, which are also underway. There is no cable TV in the BVI at the moment so that is not unique to Nanny Cay. We are glad you enjoyed the beach front location and our restaurants and we look forward to being able to show you new and improved rooms in the future.

Nanny Cay Hotel is perfect!!! We just got back from our 5th stay there. It is clean, comfortable beds, friendly and accommodating staff and beautiful setting on the water. We are looking forward to our next stay! It is reasonably priced for the traveler who likes to get out and explore!

My wife and I stayed at the Nanny Cay the night before boarding our charter. The hotel is a two story facility, but most of the second floor rooms are not available due to hurricane damage. They have WiFi up in the lobby, but not the rooms. The TVs are also not working yet. We had a nice sized room equipped with refrig and coffee maker. It was convenient being in the marina as we loaded the boat.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook the marina

Thanks for your review. Yes, we are still recovering and diligently working to repair the hotel, marina, restaurants and other buidlings. We currently only have half of the rooms operational but are working on plans to rebuild the rest. The landlines outside of Road Town are still not working and Cable BVI seems to have disappeared completely, so we are unsure of when we will have in-room WiFi and some sort of Cable TV system back on. Being on an island inhibits the speed of recovery due to having to ship in all materials and also due to lack of contractors but Nanny Cay still has a lot to do, but is definitely moving forward and so far have achieved an incredible amount in the months following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. We thank you for coming to our islands and helping support our economy with your visit.
