A friend and I had 2 rooms for 4 nights. The reception area was welcoming. The staff had moments of warmth but for the most part are very cool and seem bothered by us being there. The hotel was not in great condition before the hurricane, and now needs to be totally replaced. Only a few of the first floor rooms seem useable. Our rooms were old and outdated, though clean with new beds that were great. No TV. Wonderful location with great beach bar, good food, and super breakfast at the water front restaurant. The Moorings room are far superior.

Thanks for your review. As you noted the hotel needs work and this work is underway. We are in the process of replacing the roof which was mostly destroyed by the hurricanes, and have gutted the entire second floor which was also destroyed. The downstairs rooms suffered a fair amount of damage but as you said are clean and comfortable, although in need of updating and renovations, which are also underway. There is no cable TV in the BVI at the moment so that is not unique to Nanny Cay. We are glad you enjoyed the beach front location and our restaurants and we look forward to being able to show you new and improved rooms in the future.

Nanny Cay Hotel is perfect!!! We just got back from our 5th stay there. It is clean, comfortable beds, friendly and accommodating staff and beautiful setting on the water. We are looking forward to our next stay! It is reasonably priced for the traveler who likes to get out and explore!

My wife and I stayed at the Nanny Cay the night before boarding our charter. The hotel is a two story facility, but most of the second floor rooms are not available due to hurricane damage. They have WiFi up in the lobby, but not the rooms. The TVs are also not working yet. We had a nice sized room equipped with refrig and coffee maker. It was convenient being in the marina as we loaded the boat.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook the marina

Thanks for your review. Yes, we are still recovering and diligently working to repair the hotel, marina, restaurants and other buidlings. We currently only have half of the rooms operational but are working on plans to rebuild the rest. The landlines outside of Road Town are still not working and Cable BVI seems to have disappeared completely, so we are unsure of when we will have in-room WiFi and some sort of Cable TV system back on. Being on an island inhibits the speed of recovery due to having to ship in all materials and also due to lack of contractors but Nanny Cay still has a lot to do, but is definitely moving forward and so far have achieved an incredible amount in the months following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. We thank you for coming to our islands and helping support our economy with your visit.

Spent two glorious weeks at Nanny Cay helping the Regatta, erecting and setting up the Regatta Village, assisting as a race official and general hands on helping with the Regatta and Judy Petz, the Regatta Director.

We ended up here as a last resort since most places we wanted to stay were unable to guarantee availabilty due to construction or water issues. Therefore 2 of our reservations were cancelled and the others we looked at either only had a few rooms with no restaurant service and not near much. The rooms were cleaned ok. Felt dark and dingy as the color scheme was dark. Many of the buildings around us need major repairs. Loved the view from the pool looking out over the beach. Pool very clean and inviting and beavh chairs look and feel new. Have to agree with ither reviewers that the checkin staff made us feel as though we were disturbing them and we did not feel welcome at all. Have not found customer service to be stellar on any of the 5 islands were toured on the catamaran. But the service here was by far the least friendly of islands we visited. Im used to staying at Marriotts so I always lower the bar a little when staying elsewhere but this is 2-3 star for customer service and pool and view are 5 star.

Thanks for your review. As you noted we were severely damaged in the 2017 category 5 hurricanes, which incidentally destroyed many resorts in our Territory and across the Caribbean. We have come a long way since last year having cleaned out the entire inner marina, righted hundreds of boats and started repairing numerous buildings across our property. We still have a long way to go but being on a small remote island we are inhibited by lack of materials and contractors so things take a lot longer than a country with much greater resources. The good news is that we have started with our renovations and will be able to offer a fresher, brighter look once it has been completed.
