Owner description: A perfect getaway for a day, this charming, half-mile strip of soft white sand is isolated and rarely visited since it is accessible only by a small dirt road.

This beach is long, wide, powdery sand on the Atlantic Ocean side of Tortola. There can be an undertow, so probably not safe for children. The main drawback are rock slabs under the water which could make for an uncomfortable exit from the waves. Wish we had brought foot protection which makes sense at many BVI attractions.

Away from the bustle of road town and the cruise ships, long bay is perfect for anyone. Go to the far end of the beach for the best swimming. Back in front of the resort are too many rocks. What a treat though to avoid the masses at cane garden bay!!!

There were a total of 6 other people on this long perfect white beach when we were there, and there is Winston Natureboy, with his little hideout, perfect for a delicious drink… down the way a bit is the 1748 restaurant if you want lunch.

beautiful beach with scenery right from a post card, resort bar/ restaurant close by and great snorkeling if you are up for a swim out to the rock aprox 300 meters from the shore, huge Tarpin and cudda hang out near by and you are highly likely to see a few

Beautiful long beach for walking about 1 mile in length we estimate. In January the waves were strong enough for a fun swim and some attempts at body-surfing, but no where near strong enough to make us hesitate to get in the water. Apparently the surf is more calm in the summer months. A local man who calls himself "Nature Boy" has a little stand and sells a darn good rum punch. Bring your own towels and any other beach gear as there are no chairs by his stand. Sebastian's and The Coal Pot are nearby for a good lunch.
