“So many good beaches in Tortola, nice and quiet.”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

I liked the less traveled atmosphere of Brewers Bay. There is a small bar and restaurant at the main entrance. Good drinks and service at the main bar. There were not a lot of people here even on the cruise ship days. This low or no frills beach can be reached by private car or cab. There is an old camp ground with some regulars who tend to keep to themselves at the far end of the beach. I don’t recommend the campground bar which has a poor selection and is frequently unattended by the staff. There are beach chairs for rent. This is a good off the beaten path beach. If you are arriving by cruise ship make sure you have a ride back arranged. On the days we were there in February there were 20 – 40 people on the entire beach.

“The best snorkeling on Tortola”
Reviewed June 9, 2012

Snorkeling is on the left side of the bay, starting right at the beach where Nicole's is. The further out you go, the better. Saw all fishes representative of the area, including barracuda, trumpetfish, trunkfish, scorpionfish. Even an octopus. Did not see turtles. Went there many times, on some days there was more baitfish, on some days less. One day after a major rain at night, everything was murky and not fun.
The beach itself if beautiful, there is an area at the west end of it with palm trees and good shade. Water calm.
Did not eat at Nicole's.

“Deserted”
Reviewed June 5, 2012

Nice beach and good bay for swimming or paddle boarding. The snorkeling is pretty great. Some times it can be so deserted that you might worry something is wrong. No problem, that's just the way it is.

“Look closely!!”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

Small, quiet beach. One other family was there with small children but we were on a mission to snorkel! There is a small restaurant there but we did not check it out. Many pelicans were diving over towards the left near the rocks so we decided to start there snorkeling. Holy small fish! Thousands of tiny minnows were swarming us. By far the most fish I have ever seen in a school. I would say the snorkeling wasn't that great for variety and coral but the one thing we did see that we had never seen before were sea worms. Look very closely on the coral and you'll see these small worms (we saw a white one and a light green colored one) . We also saw a small, spiny looking crab. There is some fire coral there so don't get to close to the shallow part.

“Watch out for the chickens!!”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Fabulous beach, very private. Nice beach bar. Reasonable rates to hire sun loungers. Don't be startled by chickens (roosters?) jumping out of the bushes - if you disturb them. Enjoy.
