Owner description: Centrally located on Tortola's north side, this is probably the busiest beach since its beauty is often compared to Magen's Bay on St. Thomas.

Cane Garden Bay was more than just a sweet, blossoming by the sea. It was a slice of storybook heaven for anyone who has even the slightest love for sand, sun and peaceful fun. there is a special energy to this cove and the locals are half the reason it remains so special - keeping the vibes relaxing, but never sacrificing the service. I, literally, had the time of my life.

I do wish they limited weekend tourist capacity for the beaches (I fear the environmental impact), but otherwise the attendance is just the right amount.

very active, great for surfing, swimming everything. Lots of things to do. Rentals for just about everything to do with the water. Fabulous for long walks on the beach and sun tanning. Don't forget to get your sample of rum from the Callwood Distilery, and then by a bottle of the "Horny Rum" it's yummy.

We spent four days here on our second visit to this area of Tortola. If you are going to Tortola don't miss staying a couple of nights in Cane Garden Bay. Compare it to a bigger and busier version of White Bay on Jost Van Dyke. The lodging consists of family owned small hotels both on and looking down on the beach from the hills. A good selection of reasonably priced beach front restaurants and bars line the 1/4 mile or so of beach. Sunsets are not to be missed.

from p&o azura cruise 4 of us took $8 taxi ride to cgb, walked from one end to the other, middle half is a bit packed with sunbeds,so we spent morning at far end on sand, not much to see with snorkel at this end but pelicans dive into water very close to you.for lunch at beach restaurant i had conch fritters, shrimp rice and red stripe-heaven!.after lunch we went to first part of beach [before jetty]on sand again but we like it,SNORKEL out about 75 feet to oval marker bouy that is tied to a sunken crane and pontoon-this atracts a good number of fish good variety & up to 2feet long, wreck can be seen from beach as a dark rectangle.this saved the snorkel expedition.before we arrived at cgb our driver took us to falmouth bay for a quick look around [worth it] and on return journey we picked some people up at brewers bay which is next door to cgb. this also looks a likely snorkel spot . we would go there next time for a change ! it doesnt really get much better than this -now we know why all the royals go to mustique & caribbean at this time of year,it cant really be beaten, [ps we had 30 degrees !-just right]

The cruise ships come into Roadtown,Tortola and all the beaches are on the other side of the island which means a taxi ride up a steep winding road going to the summit and down the other side. Cane Garden Bay was worth it. Taxi charged $8 per person each way. Several ships were in and the beach was crowded but we still enjoyed lots of swimming and and time to just relax in rented lounges with umbrella. Beach has quiet waters and soft sand. One of the nicest beaches on Tortola. Accomodations along the beach looked rather questionable.
