Owner description: Centrally located on Tortola's north side, this is probably the busiest beach since its beauty is often compared to Magen's Bay on St. Thomas.

Cane garden has restaurants unlike many other beaches however its where the cruise ships take bus loads of people so can get crowded, I wonder how clean the water is . However it is usually safe unlike other beaches on the island .

“Stuck in Paradise”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

We were supposed to sail from Virgin Gorda to Florida; however, we had problems with the boat so we took the ferry to Tortola and stayed at Rhymers beach resort. Cane Bay is beautiful and a great place to chillax (chill out and relax). I would not recommend Rhymers unless you are on a limited budget, staff in restaurant was rude and waitress charged me for every refill of my coffee. The room was depressing. That being said the snorkeling was good, there is a sunken boat not far from shore where I saw sea turtles and hundreds of colorful fish. There is a reggae bar with top notch entertainment on Friday nite. All other restaurants had great food and great service. There is a street vendor on saturdays that has very good local food at reasonable prices less than $10.00. This is a graet place to spend 3-4 days.

“a nice beach with lots of vendors”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

A busy wide beach with many restaurants and bars. A lot of boats pull up to stay there.
Behind the beach area is the home to the recycled glass blowing studio.....a worthwhile visit!

“Peaceful (when no cruize-shippers around)”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Just a sleepy village on a calm bay with a good, not great, beach. True local flavour without over pretentious tourism ... but it looks like it could become a zoo in the hight season if cruize ships dump a high volume of tourists all at once.

“Not what I expected but awesome”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

I was surprised by Cane Garden Bay. I had expected a town and it was a road through a couple of businesses. Not well manicured like the tourist towns in Colorado but certainly with a charm all it's own. It was very relaxed and wonderful. The beach, which is probably what I am supposed to be reviewing here was magnificent. Absolutely gorgeous and when we were there, empty. Fun and good beach bars along the stretch with good food and drinks. We stayed up the hill at Agape Cottages and our time couldn't have been more perfect. Once again, expect roosters walking around and "junk" piled here and there in the dirt parking lots but the relaxed and friendly vibe is awesome. You don't feel like everyone has their hand in your pockets on Tortola and people are very friendly (in my experience). I will definitely return here.
