Owner description: Centrally located on Tortola's north side, this is probably the busiest beach since its beauty is often compared to Magen's Bay on St. Thomas.

Always something to do. A fun beach. Restaurants, bars, nightlife, live entertainment, beautiful water. A short boat ride to Jost Van Dyke.

A lovely up end resort with great beach and snorkeling.
Chatting with others, there is a thievery issue at work here: my friend had his Macbook stolen as he was checking in. Other travellers we mentioned this to said they knew it was a high theft area.

I spent a week in Tortola and the majority was spent at cane garden bay .. It's a beautiful beach but busy when cruise ship comes in. I loved myets bar right on the beach they have the best conch fritters! The beach is sandy and white and it's the type of beach where you can just sit in the water and drink or snorkel.

We visited Tortola on the Norwegian Pearl in Dec 2010. We easily caught a taxi from the cruise dock for $8 per person, each way. (Only downfall was that we had to wait unti the taxi was pretty much full.) The trip to the beach was very exciting, with windy roads, and huge hills. Views were incredible.

Taxi dropped us at the middle of the beach, where there are some small shops and bars. We walked a little ways down the beach, and rented lounge chairs for $5 each. Waves were high that day, and came right up under the lounge chairs. (Tip: take a nap sack and hang it over the back of your chair). Because the under tow was so strong that day, we didn't actually swim ... we just waded part way in.

We walked down the beach, and got photos of the beautiful beach, and surrounding hills. There were other bars down the beach, and the drinks seemed to be a lot cheaper. After spending a few hours, we easily caught another taxi back downtown to do some shopping.

I would recommend this beach, for the beautiful scenery, and turquoise water.

We were at Cane Garden Bay for a brief period of time due to our excursion being only for 2 hours but it was the best 2 hours anyone could've spent. The water was warm and so calm you felt like you were sitting in a warm bathtub. We walked a little to get away from the crowds but was well worth it.
