We stayed at a villa called Serendipity House just up the hill from the Tamarind Club and had privileges to use the Tamarind Clubs facilities. We only used the restaurant though and picked the brains of the staff for tips about the island. All I can say is that when you are at the Tamarind Club its like you are hanging out with family. The food was great one of the best meals we had on any of the islands (and we went to 6 of them). The Owner and the Bartender were so helpful even letting us use their personal cell phone to call the States! Really exceptional! And there was always a fun crowd at the bar to drink with. Speaking of drinks they were ridiculously cheap everywhere on the virgin islands but they were really cheap at the Tamarind Club. Overall it was a very relaxed good time. I loved that various guests would bring their dogs with them and they'd be laying around taking a nap in the heat. I would highly recommend coming here for dinner and drinks.

Cindy and family are simply the best. Friendly locals join you for some of the best food on the island. Have the Jerk Burger, Curried Chicken, and if you happen by on Thanksgiving, you can join everyone for THE BEST turkey ever. Try Eric's Cajun Fried Turkey too.
We tried Pina Coladas and Pain Killers all over the island, and the Tamarind's beat them all.
Sunday night's pizza (fantastic) and "game night" was a highlight of our week. The barkeeps (including Cindy's two adult kids) stash an array of fun board games, cards and the know-how to teach you how to play almost any game.

I am a regular visitor to the Tamarind Club, and whether its for breakfast, lunch or dinner I can always find exactly what I am looking for. The menu caters to appetites and budgets both large and small and offers everything - burgers, steak, chicken, seafood, vegetarian, salads, pastas, bar snacks - and I could keep going! The best part is, if there is something you are craving, ask and you shall receive (within reason of course!)

The atmosphere is always light and fun, with a welcoming family made up of staff and regulars. Sunday Brunch is always popular, where after the meal patrons hop in the pool and swim up to the bar for the best Bushwhakers and Mimosa's around, sometimes they stay until the sun goes down! And Cindy's desserts NEVER disappoint.

Whether you are visitng or live in the area The Tamarind is a MUST. Whatever you fancy, be it lazy lunch and afternoon by the pool, a superb dinner, or a wild Sunday Brunch, you are certain to be satisfied.

The Sunday Brunch at Tamarind Club is back starting October 5th! I believe it's from 12 noon till 5pm. This Sunday Eric Stone and David Thrasher will be performing during the brunch. The food there is unbelievable! They have a variety of omelettes, (my favorite is the everything omelette), fish, vanilla french toast, salads, pasta, soups, burgers, sandwiches and more. Folks, it doesn't matter what you order, it's ALL good! AND with brunch you get a FREE Bloody Mary, Bloody Caesar, or Mimosa! The bartender, Eric-not the singer/songwriter, makes THE BEST Bloody Marys! ( I don't like clamato juice, so I've never tried the Bloody Caesars.) And the owner Cindy is so absolutely nice and accomodating to all her guests. You can even stay there as she has rooms available for rent. The Tamarind Club has a pool that wraps around to the bar so you can listen to the great music and play in the water too. It's a nice place to socialize and hang out with friends, there are couches, puzzles, books, and board games - a little something for everyone. If you are on Tortola on a Sunday, go to Tamarind in Josiah's Bay.
