My husband and myself spent three glorious weeks in Cane Garden Bay this past Feb. We made it part of our routine three nights a week for happy hour with live music by Kapeye....Tortola's version of Jimmy Buffet. It was a great party atmosphere as the crowd participated in the International Rhythm Section. The food was so so, but the music and people were amazing!

Although this restaurant was slightly pricey for the food, we had a wonderful time in the fun atmosphere and wonderful service. We were seated with little wait time and given a tour of the outdoor kitchen area and what foods were available that evening specifically the fish choices. The server was great and made our night even more special. While my conch fritters were yummy, the seafood pasta needed some help. It could have used a bit more shellfish and only had 2 small pieces of lobster. I was not crazy about the penne pasta and was expecting some type of spaghetti noodles. However, my husband really enjoyed his wahoo fish dinner. The key lime pie was average. The barking & begging dogs were cute but somewhat annoying during dinner. Overall, the food was decent but the ambiance, service and bar were much better.

The place is nice, with ocean view and nice music most of the evenings - at least during the Christmas-New Year season. However, the food was positively bad. I ordered a fish steak - it turned out to be a tuna filet, clearly deep frozen and shipped from the US mainland (as most of the food on the BVI). Not bad, but also not spectacular at the price paid. My wife ordered some chicken stripes that turned out to be quite bad - she didn't like them. Finally, I ordered a coconut cake for desert - it was definitely old, the cream on it was distinctly stale. Overall, it was not a terrible experience but it was very disappointing at $60 we paid.

So, overall this is a good place to have a few drinks, but just as the Lonely Planet guide said: skip the food.

Thank Emin

We were staying at Myett's Garden Inn and had dinner one night at their restaurant. Some good menu selections. Service was a little slow, but the food was fresh and prepared well.
