We went here for dinner one night with our 2 kids because it seemed to be a very lively restaurant and appeared to be a restaurant where the locals eat as well. Well, we sat down right away and had high hopes. After being told that they were out of some of their famous side dishes, we ordered our food and drinks and were told that the food would take a while so we should have some shrimp to start and really had to try their johnny cake. So, we waited and 2 of the 4 drinks came some time after the shrimp. The shrimp was good but the diet coke was really flat. No problem, they took it back and ordered wine - don't do that... terrible. Anyhow, we waited patiently for the other 2 drinks... and waited. One came and then we were told they were out of Caribe beer. Ok... my husband ordered another. Then a different waitress came and told us they were out of most of the side dishes (including their traditional rice and peas) and all they had was chicken as a main course. No fish (as I ordered) and no hamburger (as 1 child ordered). Who runs out of hamburgers? By the way, the johnny cake did not come. When we asked why we had to wait 20 minutes or so to be told that they were out of all their food, we were told that the waiter wasn't doing his job. We waited and waited. The other beer came. Anyhow, they seemed totally disorganized and we had no faith that the rest of our meal would come. In the interim, another waitress came by and asked if we had ordered the lobster. Really? No. But, they were likely out of that too. We decided to cut our losses and offered to pay. They didn't charge us - which certainly was the right thing to do. Anyhow, we ended up having a delicious meal at the Blue Martini (2nd of the week). That review will come shortly. Moral of the story? It may be a good lively restaurant (based on the other reviews), but don't take any chances - this is a dinner place for early birds only (we arrived approx 8:30) or those who want atmosphere and no food.

I cannot even begin to describe the terrible service but will say we left after a hour of sitting at a filthy table and still not getting our drinks let alone food...I don't care how good the food is we will never try it again! The owner even saw what was going on and she did nothing about it! They could not care less if you stayed or walked out as we did.

We went there last night after reading all the reviews and the comments on lackluster service are a understatement! It was total chaos from the time we walked up to it, no one to seat you then when she finally did it was at a filthy table and then it got worse. No one took our order for at least a 1/2 hour until the woman in the kitchen noticed we were still just sitting there and sent someone over but after another 1/2 hour still no drinks and no food! We left after a hour of sitting there and will NOT be back. We at at the Talk of the Town a few days previous and will just go back there. I have never seen such awful service anywhere before and I don't care how good the food is as we will not go back!!

We love the Grand Case Lola's. We tend to eat at the Lola that has the tables on the beach of Grand Case. Never have had a bad meal and have been comming now 15 years. If you only can choose ONE place to eat, eat at the Lola's BBQ. Nothing is better, not even the $100 per person "fusion" high priced place to eat. There are many gourmet resturaunts all over St Martin but we eat at the Lola's 4 or more times every time we visit (2-3 weeks over the Christmas Holidays). The view is to die for. The food awesome. The atmosphere outstanding. The price CHEAP. It just does not get any better than this. OPEN from LUNCH to LATE AT NIGHT ......and there is something for everyone, all fresh, BBQ and home made food. THE BEST ON THE ISLAND

We had some of the best ribs! Everything's was tasty and the service was supper friendly!!
We had to wait awhile for our meal, which we did not mind; however, the staff felt so bad they brought us a plate of salt fish fritters on the house! The Johnny cakes were to die for; the best I had ever eaten.
Can't wait to go back!
