This was a fabulous stay at Grand Case Beach Club week of June 29th 2013. We rented a car from Leisure Car Rental http://www.leisurecarrentalsxm.com/ which met us at the airport when we arrived. Had our GPS with us preprogrammed for the hotel & sightseeing. Driving is on the right, but, can be a little tricky on some of the not so well paved roads; just pay attention & be aware the drivers here may make sudden turns, back into the street suddenly, & pedestrians will walk out in front of you casually to cross the road. Very easy to find hotel. Parking onsite is included. Check in was a breeze. Front desk staff were very friendly at check in & check out. We were on the 2nd floor rm109 & hauling luggage up the stairs was a task, but, was so worth the view waiting for us from our balcony. We had a great view of Grand Case harbor & restaurants along the waterfront. The room was spotless & ice cold air conditioning greeted us upon entry. There is a well appointed kitchenette. We visited the nearby Simply Marche to pickup beer, limes, Dutch cheese, ham, bread, & sodas. http://www.sxm-shopping.com/groceries.html Having a full size fridge w/freezer came in handy for our drinks & lunch supplies. The hotel provided complimentary breakfast of fresh baguettes, croissants, coffee, & juice each morning & this was a great way to start the day. We eat dinner at the Sunset Cafe on the property 1st night for convenience. The food is decent & there is a geat view of the sunset. There is a vast variety of dinner options to be had just a short walk into town. There is onsite security on the property & just outside the property on the street every night. It is a gated property & we felt very safe. Great location for walking into town for dinner. We liked this location; Grand Case is away from the other side of the island where the busy cruise ship dock is located in Phillipsburg.
From the GCBC it is an easy drive to all the site seeing locations & beaches each day. There is also some fabulous snorkeling on site just steps away from the room. There are plenty of lounge chairs scattered throughout the property. Nice place to chill out in a chair with a cold beer & do absolutly nothing. The housekeeper did a absolutely wonderful job. We always came back after a day of seeing the island to a spotless room with fresh flowers. She always had a smile on her face & friendly greeting each day we saw her. See my other reviews for some of the activities & restaurants we visited & would reccomend such as the Butterfly Farm, SeaTrek, Capt Alan's Snorkel, Passaat Sunset Cruise, Sky's The Limit, Le Tastevin, & Sunset Beach Bar.
We would definitely recommend a stay at the GCBC! When we come back to St Martin we would stay here again.
