We booked this hotel based solely on internet searches not really knowing much about St-Martin except that we wanted to stay on the "French side." When we arrived at the GCBC we were so pleasantly surprised! The GCBC is located right on the beach within walking distance of a small village. The hotel itself is very laid back and quiet, surrounded by lovely tropical flowering plants. The unit was extremely clean and well-maintained with a beautiful view of the ocean and beach. The staff were all extremely friendly and professional. The restaurant on site had wonderful food and the service was excellent. An unexpected benefit was the friendliness of the other guests - many had been staying at the GCBC for years and were fun to talk with and happy to share travel and tour tips. We truly enjoyed our stay at the GCBC and found it an excellent value as well.

Room Tip: Most rooms are beach front, but there is one "garden" building. So if you'd like beac...

We have stayed multiple times at GCBC. They have a great location near all the wonderful retaurants in Grand Case, and far from the congestion of the more touristy Dutch side.
The staff are friendly, and management does a good job of regularly updating rooms. The physical location is beautiful, with two easy swimming beaches and a nice point with several locations to sit and admire the views.
The Sunset Cafe is run by very friendly folks and provides an easy place for eating any meal if you don't want to go out.
GCBC is not a big convention hotel, and is not super luxurious, but we like it for what it is - clean, attractively located, quiet, well maintained, and reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Ocean view one bedroom suites are perfect for couples.

Located right on the beach, beatiful sea view from the room, great restaurant, spacious room (and the room was just fully remodeled - everything was brand new!), and additional plus: short walk to the great restaurants and bars in the village. This is my definition of perfect resort!

We stayed at the GCBC in June 2012 for 2 nights before going to Anguilla. We did our research and had high expectations due to the numerous positive reviews on tripadvisor but were a bit disappointed. In a good location, just a few minutes walk from restaurant row, we ate at the nearby lolos which was convenient and pretty delish. Nice that they have security guards, but still felt scary given how dark it was, would not walk alone. The resort is pretty I suppose but lacks a luxurious feel. We had a standard room which I found a bit small and not the cleanest. Breakfast was basic but decent. The beach was nice, although one side was really narrow, and there were better beaches elsewhere in st. martin. Just felt for the amount of money, was not really worth it and did not enjoy our stay.

You stayed in June and said that the resort could have been better…and I agree. Not because anything was lacking then, but since June, we have renovated about 30 (of 70) rooms, improved the WiFi, and a host of other things. We are a work in progress, and the one thing you can be assured of is that we get better year over year. Next year we have even grander plans, as we take very seriously our motto: Better Today than Yesterday, and Better Tomorrow than Today! We appreciate timely comments that help us to up our game, and if your room was not clean enough, we would have liked to address that immediately. St Martin/St Maarten is blessed with 37 (or is it 39?) beaches and we all have our favorites, to suit our own temperament and styles, we are very happy to be one of the few hotels on the island that can actually boast to be on two, regardless of how narrow or wide! We are also extremely affordable in June and throughout the “Low” season…and busy because of it. We are now doing as much occupancy in the summer months as we do in the winter, the only difference is the very reasonable prices. But then again, GCBC is a rather special type of bird…we may not be for everyone, so sorry you did not enjoy your visit, we certainly would have wanted you to!

Overall, I felt very good about my stay there. The property is absolutely stunning. It is extremely romantic. The beach is secluded. A lot of little nooks for privacy. The proximity to the amazing restaurants in Grand Case was great too. I appreciated the free Wi Fi, water accessories (noodles, kayaks, etc). The loungers are extremely luxurious and new. On site restaurant is great too. Rooms are large and very clean. A few minor complaints: they would not guarantee fulfilling specific room requests...even when given considerable notice (double beds)...eventually my request was granted, but with resistance.  Some of the water sports staff were a little pushy- were reluctant to put up umbrellas, kept asking to take them back, kind of interrupting precious beach time. The included breakfast could have some fruit or yogurt too, a bit too bare bones. And for women travelling alone, the short walk to town can be a little daunting, a bit scary...even with a security guard who you don't always see....would feel so much better if street was better lit. Still, made for a great vacation! I would come back.

We spent five nights at this property and wanted more. Perfect location and no regrets even though we had a garden studio. Imagine your own garden located right next to the beach. The sound of the waves at night added to a beautiful stay. Every member of staff seemed pleasant, what they did for guests seemed like a hobby more than a task. Sandra, Sabrina and Christine are just few of the wonderful customer -oriented employees at Grand Case Beach Club. I am usually very picky about hotels but I wanted to cancel my visit to the Dutch side so that I can enjoy the tranquility of this property. One word of caution though, be prepared for a "lean" continental breakfast. If you prefer you can eat at any of the restaurants in the nearby business area. We mainly dined at the Sunset Cafe Restaurant on location. All in all a great stay at a great property. We plan to be back next year.

We stayed one night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good, I'm not sure I would want to eat there everyday. The beach was clean, the staffer with water sports went out of her way to let me know what was available for free. The bartender was fun and kept us happy. The only issue was the room smelled moldy, not only our room on 2 floor but friends on first floor had the same issue.

Room Tip: We had a man room, so we didn't face the pool and the band noise.

Thank you for taking the time to review our little resort, and while we would love to take credit for most of what you say, but is it Grand Case Beach Club that you are posting about? We have not had female staffer at Water-sports for several months now, and we do not have a band, or any rooms that face the pool. Even so, I will check about any less than pleasant smelling rooms, and we do have a wonderful staff, both in the hotel and restaurant. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your holiday, whether here or somewhere else!
