We highly recommend this hotel....Yamina & Remy run this hotel and they go out of their way every hour to make sure you have everything you need. From the moment we arrived we were greeting by their bright smiles and warm personality. From the personal touches put into a cocktail party they hosted on their back patio (they live next door) to the two of them greeting us on our patio singing & baring champagne for our 30th wedding anniversary, we left feeling like we were leaving family when our vacation was over. They also have a golf cart shuttle into Grand Case for dinner every night....the locals ALL know our driver Bryon (awesome) - very popular guy! Mryiam runs the office and was VERY accommodating whenever we had questions or needed to make reservations. Our room was beautiful and stepped out to the sand....highly recommend the beachfront suite. We will be back every year because the staff made our stay so incredibly enjoyable. Best hidden secret in St Martin.....

Room Tip: Beachfront Suite is a must

It has been 8 years since we stayed at Le Petite but we still say it was the best place we could have ever found. It is just as beautiful as the pictures indicate and we loved that the ocean was steps from our room. Our favorite part was that it was out of the tourist area and felt like we we're part of the community. The only downside, which really isn't as long as you are aware of it going in, is the taxi ride from the airport. Because you are traveling through the community and not into the more polished tourist area, It can cause some apprehension. But, the moment we pulled up to the hotel and were warmly greeted, I knew we were at the best place on the island!

Remy, Yamina, & Miriam will always great you with a smile and exceed all expectations in providing an exceptional, relaxing experience. The rooms are spacious and have a good sized kitchen area. The "supermarket" is a quarter mile down the road which makes it easy to stock up. A short walk up the beach brings you to Grand Case and the wonderful restaurants there. We spent some quiet time on the beach behind the hotel and did a bit of snorkelling as well. Remy provides a list of activities to choose from around the island too. We took wind-surfing lessons and did a sunset sailboat cruise.. This is the place to stay in St Martin - we will be back soon, that's for sure..

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor. The balcony is covered from the direct sunlight which worked for us...

We visited Le Petit from June 7-14 and it will not be our last. Remi, Yamina, and Myriam were such gracious hosts and made our stay memorable. Upon arrival Remi escorted us to our room (#4) and showed us how to work the safe and other features. The refrigerator was stocked with Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Beer, Tonic Water, and Water. The view from the balcony was breath taking! It was so nice to have breakfast every morning overlooking the ocean and the gentle waves. Breakfast is included which including fresh juices, french pastries, fruit, yogurt and coffee/tea.

My husband and I left our soft cooler at home and Remi came to the rescue by letting us borrow one of his. He made sure that our needs were met and always called us by our first names. His wife Yamina and Myriam were also helpful in guiding us to a fun off island adventure. They booked our trip on Winner's Touch and we had a phenomenal time!

Le Petit is so close to all our favorite beaches (Happy Bay, Friar's Bay, and Orient). Our afternoons were always spent on the beach of Le Petit watching the gorgeous sunsets.

Remi and Myriam were always very helpful in suggesting restaurants and making reservations for us in Grand Case which was just minutes away. A golf cart service provided by Le Petit was a added bonus to shuttle to GC and back.

We are anxious to get back to SXM and most importantly visiting our friends Remi, Yamina, and Myriam!

We arrived before our room was ready and Myriam did everything she could to make us comfortable. The room was perfect with a stunning view from the 2nd floor. The small breakfast buffet each day had more than enough choices to keep us happy. The location at the far end of the beach provided quiet, and then allowed us to walk into "town" without having to abandon the Caribbean. And the "shuttle" to the restaurants in the evening was wonderful.

I can see why Le Petit Hotel is rated #1 on St. Martin, and agree completely.

With so many people saying so many great things about this hotel and its staff, it's almost hard to believe it could live up to all the hype. I promise you, it does! We stayed for 4 nights in the middle of June and we will be counting the days until we can return. From the very first email to our hug goodbye, Le Petit was committed to our perfect vacation.
We arranged for our car rental through the hotel, and we were met at Princess Juliana by a friendly guy named Harry holding a Le Petit sign with my name on it. He helped us with our bags, drove us back to the hotel and had the paperwork ready with our car that was already there. It was very affordable, and the car ( a Hyundai I10 - tiny by American standards, but you don't want a big American car here) was very nice to have. We went back to Maho Beach to watch the planes at the Sunset Bar and wandered all around the island. Average speed was about 30 mph and if you can drive in a city and know how a roundabout works you'll be fine. It was nice to be able to run to the supermarket or take a quick trip down to Marigot or Philipsburg whenever we wanted.
For our entire stay, Remy and Yamina were the friendliest, most gracious hosts I've ever encountered at a hotel. They live next door, and even after the office closed they were willing to offer restaurant recommendations or call for reservations or transportation if needed. They greeted us by name every day and asked about our activities from the day before and what we had planned for tomorrow. Just absolutely charming people that know exactly what hospitality is meant to be.
As far as amenities go, the self-serve breakfast was as good as everyone says, and there was cold beer, water and soda in the fridge when we arrived. (Definitely consider buying lunch fixins at the supermarket if you want to save some cash.) We got in a little early, but they put our bags in the room while they finished preparing it and we were content to park ourselves on lounges in the shade on the beach. We didn't use the free kayaks, but we did take advantage of the loaner snorkels and spent many hours watching hundreds of fish and even found a sea turtle in the ocean behind the hotel. Don't sweat the european plugs- most outlets already had adapters in them and the hotel has extra adapters and transformers if you need one. With the big bed, the cold AC and the unique ceiling fan in the room, we slept like rocks every night. (The wine might have helped a little...)
We used recommendations from the staff for dinner, and none of the places they chose were anything less than spectacular. The staff at Le Petit called and made our reservations for seaside tables every night and we ate in the glow of gorgeous sunsets over the water. The food in Grand Case is just amazing- but unless you cook your own or visit the lolos it's not cheap.(Hey, you're on vacation right?)
Speaking of dinner, I can't say enough good things about the shuttle service the hotel provides and the chauffeur, Johnny Bryan. He uses a well-decorated-and-lit-up, 6-seat (with seatbelts), gas-powered golf cart to take you anywhere you want to eat in Grand Case and return you to the hotel. The staff at Le Petit called him for us, and all of the restaurants we went to knew him by name and will call him for you when you're finished with dinner. He was always friendly and punctual, and it was great not to have to deal with the parking in Grand Case or walk into town. The guy has lived here his entire life and is a celebrity in town- every night was filled with great stories about the island in between the waving and honking at people shouting greetings from the cars and porches. It's a great service- you won't regret taking advantage of it.
So, to summarize: The hotel is awesome, the staff are superb, the food is incredible, all the other good things people have said about it are all true, and if you don't stay here while you're in St. Martin, you may not survive the regret you'll feel.

My wife and I stayed at Le Petit Hotel for 4 nights in early June 2014 and would jump back on the next plane back again at the first opportunity. I can't fault Remy and Yamina on any topic. They were lovely welcoming hosts and helped us a great deal in seeking out the best beaches and restaurants in and around St. Martin. They were able to lend us masks and snorkels and also facilitated car hire which was a breeze with their help. (THe car hire company also dropped us off at the airport when we were going home).
We stayed on the third floor where we had great views down the beach from the balcony. The room itself was gorgeous and everything we could have hoped for. Very modern and in line with the "boutique hotel" description. There was a small kitchenette if you wanted to eat in or prepare a picnic. Breakfast was as advertised and very tasty.
Some other reviewers had voiced some concern about finding their way to the main street where the restaurants can be found. We had no issue at all and preferred to walk along the beach. We found this to be perfectly safe whether during the day or at night. We felt very safe throughout our stay in Grand Case.
Lots of other folks have listed their favourite restaurants and I can't disagree with the recommendations. Spiga is definitely worth a look for terrific Italian food and, if you fancy something a little simpler, the pizza at Aglio E Olio is excellent.
We did a bit of exploring around the island and enjoyed Remy's suggestion of a day at Pinel Island although I imagine it can get pretty busy at high season. Friar's Bay was also fun following a visit to the market at Marigot.
Overall I would strongly recommend this for comfort and convenience on St. Martin.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a balcony with a balustrade rather than a low wall on the 3rd floor. This ma...
