After a tiring day of traveling, we decided to treat ourselves to dinner at le Pressoir. With no reservation, we were quickly seated on the porch. At least 4 people attended to our every need, from drinks, which were quickly brought, to reviewing the specials and telling us their favorites. After ordering a Jameson on the drinks and a Campari on the rocks to start, we were pleased to find nice full pours. We debated heavily about the escargot appetizer, but settled on the wahoo tartar special since it was caught that day. It was nicely studded with fresh mango and a very nice portion for 16E. There was a lemon sauce on the side that was great on its own with the bread but overpowering for the fish (the only complaint). For entrees, we had the lamb tenderloin special and added the seared foie gras for 7E, making the sauce infused with foie gras as well. The other entre was the veal trilogy (trilogies seem to be popular in St. Martin), which consisted of veal tartar, veel cheeks and veal loin. Having eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, I can say that the tartar was one of the best things I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. The accompaniments were delicious and different for each dish. And we were pleasantly full without needing dessert. For 123E with drinks, it wasn't outrageously expensive either. A definite must and worth all the hype.
