We ate here a year ago and I dreamt about it - my second meal did not disappoint. I had the hot asparagus soup appetizer, which came with a small dish of BACON-flavored creme brulé, and a small scoop of CAMEMBERT ice cream. You take about 1/4 teaspoon of the creme brulé (which does not have bacon bits in it, just tastes like bacon) and 1/4 teaspoon of the ice cream, then a generous spoonful of soup, all in one bite. The asparagus flavor is first, strong and complex (the broth must be carefully made), then you taste the bacon, and finally as the ice cream melts in your mouth, you get a pop of camembert. It was the most amazing soup.

In Missouri we don't get a lot of truly French cuisine, so we are no experts. The L'Estaminet was unique for us, and we depended on tripadvisor to steer us in the right direction. We were not disappointed. The staff -- one of the owners waited on us -- was friendly and helpful. We were not disappointed with the food. It was our 10th anniversary, and we decided to spend it in St. Martin. We wanted a special night, and decided on L'Estaminet. It all worked out perfectly.

by far our favorite meal in st. maarten! if you are looking for a genuine french meal, this is it, the CHEESE wow, with a fine twist and the best service. the couple that owns the place cleanly pay attention to each plate with each detail, they are on top of service like a hawk. it's cute, casual appeal is lovely complimented by 5 star service, you cannot beat it. we enjoyed more than the #1 on trip advisor in grand case, although we like both, this one was spectacular! the creme brulee comes to the table on fire, talk about presentation. the pastry escargot, and the fish with black garlic, out of this world. must go, and bon appetit!

We last visited in Nov 2011 thinking it was the best meal of our trip. This time around we started here and we certainly not disappointed. The food is wonderful. They have a unique selection of items, wonderful specials and I really don't feel you can find such intense flavors elsewhere. We love this place and are taking certainly going to return before we leave.

This was one of our favorite restaurants on our trip to Grand Case. The owner-Carole was a fabulous hostess and the food combinations were amazing! We were delighted that it was open since most establishments are closed in the month of Sept. We would go here again.
