“What a meal!”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

We were walking to eat a chimichanga or something and weren't feeling very enthusiastic about it. My wife stopped to look at a menu at this small place. The menu said Mediterranean but the girl working there said Lebanese. We love Lebanese food and decided to try it. We're glad we did!

They have this sampler platter that you can order a bit of everything. After the first, we ordered another, along with a lamb dinner we were to share. It took awhile as this place isn't Chili's. The salads were cut after we ordered. The lamb was cooked after we ordered it, and the wait for all of this was worth it. The ambience was Eastern with hookah pipes all around and music playing that was either Greek or Turkish. The place was clean. The service was friendly. We sat at the bar and the bartender had to look up how to make a Rob Roy but it came the way I like it AND with a smile.

In short, this meal was hot, fresh, and well prepared, and it was a welcome departure from the typical tourist fare of cheeseburgers and steaks and seafood and Italian. We'll indubitably return!

“Wonderful”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

My husband and I have been coming to St. Maarten for 8 years. Many restaurants have come and gone, but we are hoping this one will stay. Fabulous food, wonderful atmosphere and polite service. Byblos is a must go!

“Something different on St. Martin”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

Ok, let me first say this an inside review. We met the owner and the restaurant's entertainer on the beach that day and found out about this new restaurant. But I don't think we were treated special. The food, based on his mother's recipes, was authentic Lebanese and expertly prepared from fresh ingredients. If you are in a hurry, go somewhere else and complain about it. We enjoyed the belly dancer entertaining while we waited for our diner. (The bartender is also a hoot.) After dinner we enjoyed a Hooka of vanilla/chocolate tobacco. The the entertainment began. The place is small but it was a great evening. Food and fun. Definitely a break for French or Seafood.

“Something different in St. Maarten”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

Having lived on Island for 6 years it makes a change to have a restaurant that is just different.

The food is great, tasty, plenty of it and very moorish and yes it does take a while to come out of the kitchen, but what you won't hear is the constant ping of a Microwave.... everything is cooked to order and you can taste it.

Greg is the perfect host and if you are lucky enough he may even sing you a song, he is an awesome singer and pianist.

We have visited 6 times now and every time we visit we have a great time.

Thanks guys and keep up the good work.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Food took almost 40 min to arrive after ordering, and even though the server informed us they "made everything from scratch and grew the goats themselves in the backyard and blah blah blah," I still think it was a bit ridiculous to take that long with only one other 4 top in the restaurant. They did comp us some hummus, and the food wasn't horrible, just nothing special to go out of your way for. The belly-dancing featured on Friday nights was, well, I just hope she has another career than dancing.
