“Best Dining Experience of the Week”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2011

Our table of four received outstanding service (ask for the St. Louis gal) who, along with the food, made this evening the best of our week long stay. After eating out every night it could be difficult to pick the "best" yet the combination of great food, uniqueness, service and setting - we sat outside overlooking the bay - made it our favorite. A little hard to find yet well worth it...just go to the Pelican Resort on Billy Folly Rd; it's on the ground level facing the bay.

“Wouldn't Come again”

We Came for new years and it was not a good experience. Service was amateur and food was slow to get to tables. The only positive was that my husbands steak was delicious.

“Cozy, romantic dinner spot with an interesting twist”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2011

Relatively small but ample menu choices in this cozy, smallish romantic dining spot at the water in the marina at Pelican Resort. The food all comes served with sizzling hot stones that you use to further cook your food or warm each bite before you eat it. The filet mignon with half lobster tail was excellent. Simple, tasty, grilled. The sauces were nothing special, but you really didn't need them. The grilled shrimp appetizer with salad was a good start. You can cook the shrimp on the stone to get them nicely grilled and tasty. The seafood platter, shrimp, tuna, scallops, talipia was simple but fine. Again the dipping sauces did not add much. The soft live guitar playing was really a nice touch. The service was prompt and very friendly. The owner very accommodating to our requests. We .followed the advice of another reviewer and had gelato next door for dessert. The restaurant is very difficult to find, thank goodness for the directions of another reviewer which I reprint here with some further elaboration
"It its very tough to find and you won't find signs from any road big or small directing you there. You'll have to park at the Hollywood casino or the red piano parking lot and walk across Billy folly road and down through Pelican's hotel. Its in the same area as Ciao restraunt." basically from the main airport road you turn in between a big sign for Hollywood Casino and Burger King on to Billy Folly road. Follow it along a ways by some condos on the right and you will come to a small parking mall with Hollywood Casino and the Red Piano. Park in there then follow signs to the Marina stores and Ciao restaurant, down two outside flights of stairs. Once you park, you will find it.
We thought it was worth the visit and different than most other restaurants. Not a spot for young kids for dinner.

“Great Food, Service Fair`”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2011

Love the food here-- it is a fun and different place to eat. The steaks are amazing. The chocolate fondue was very disappointing -it was served in an unheated bowl with sliced fruit. If you want chocolate, go to the ice cream shop located steps away from the Stone. The biggest disappointment, however, was the spotty service--some seem unaware of the various offers that are available.

“A very dissapointing evening”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2010

We were looking for a good steak restaurant, and a couple staying at our place mentioned The Stone. I made reservations 2 days in advance for 4 people. We arrived at about 2 min before our reservation, the lovely girl who works there took us to our table outside (which I requested) We sat down and the waiter RUDY came over saw that we were sitting there and rolled his eyes at the girl who sat us, who in turn said its fine that they sit here. He asked if we wanted any drinks took our order and left. Food was not that good 2 of the steaks were fatty. Now we are done eating, he asked if we wanted desert, we said no we were full, so he said good because he needed the table for someone else (HE CALLED THE BIG GUY.) Really had I know that I would have ordered the bananas foster because that took 1/2 hour to make, As we were getting up and leaving we heard RUDY say to another table. Let me tell you about the SPECIALS tonight, who knew there were specials!!!!We didn't. We tried for 2 days to speak to the owner but he was never around. Very expensive and not worth it, save your money, If you are looking for a great steak go to Uncle Harry's by the airport.....
