By far, the best time ever while visiting St. Maartens, Diane, Trevor and Eli were the best hosts, boat was clean and plenty of space for all to move around. Mud bath enjoyed by son Jesse and son Peter finally got the flip nailed down off the tarzan swing. Wish we would have been able to take another trip, it was by far the best day ever!!!! Beautiful ocean, great sail....highly recommend booking a sail with Random Wind, can't wait for next time we visit, this will be on our list of to do's!!!!! Brian, Cindy, Peter and Jesse Beierle, from Madison, WI.

This was a great trip, with a great crew, and fun people. Trevor, Diane, and Eli were fun and entertaining. Kids and adults loved the swing into the water. Conscientious about time for folks heading back to cruise ships, and compassionate for a passenger with motion sickness. And free pictures too! THANKS GUYS!!!

Thank you Diane , Eli , and Trevor . My wife and I lucked out when another day trip sail didn't hold our spot . We looked online and found Random wind and our day couldn't have been better! Eli made sure our drinks were frosty and fresh and her DJ skills kept the atmosphere flowin . The boat owner Diane made us a DElicious lunch And the after lunch entertainment (Diane backflipping off the bow) had a cirque de soleil esk quality, and capitan Trevor has little to say but next time I see him I want to ask him if he can save me 15 % by switching to gieco. We will definitely come back to st maarten and Random Wind. :)

Year after year we sail on the Random Wind with Diane and Trevor. We never miss it. Good time, great food, fun and sun. Best day you can have if you like the sea.

First, know that if you are getting off a cruise ship, you don't have to take the water taxi ($7 pp) to get a taxi to Skipjacks meeting place (another $8 pp), we wasted $28 b/c we didn't know this. With two taxis it was frustrating to spend $60 before even getting to Random Wind.
We had a large group of about 20 friendly people off a Disney cruise ship on our Random Wind outing. Diane was out of town so we had Eli and Trevor as our guides. Eli is young and super sweet, Trevor didn't have much personality and that's the nicest I can be about that. Neither really felt like "guides"; we had to ask questions about where we were, what we were seeing, etc.
First we headed to La Semanna's resort beach and waited for another boat to clear out before we could snorkel. Equipment was okay, being able to swim to the beach was nice. Not too much to see in the water - it was clear but only a few fish, one stingray. Scenery was beautiful! We stayed anchored there and had lunch which was fantastic curry chicken and rice, salad, mac n cheese. Drinks were also great: pop, rum punch, gin and tonics, pina coladas. There was a bathroom on board.
Then we headed out, I thought to another snorkel spot, but we passed Maho Beach (not too many planes unfortunately) without stopping, and went to a spot to Tarzan swing only. I was hoping to snorkel more than one hour total on this trip and more than one spot but that didn't happen.
The boat itself was very nice and had comfortable sun and shade seating, and we all loved the lookout spot out front. I definitely saw other boat tours holding 50+ people. Do you know how long it takes to get 50 people outfitted with snorkel gear and into the water? A long time! So the smaller group on Random Wind is a plus.
It took some time to tender back to skipjacks but the staff there was nice and let us use their facilities. Eli arranged taxis ($8 pp again) for us back to the ship or to town.
Overall, based on TripAdvisor reviews (a lot of one posting reviews), I had expections for the 'best day ever' and this excursion fell just a little short of that. Maybe if Diane had been onboard it would have been different.
