the restaurant could use one or two additional staff to help with serving large groups. highly recommended by our concierge and with good reason.

We visited this restaurant several times on the recommendation of the General Manager of a 5 star hotel. The food and ambience were very good and the price was reasonable. Service was good on our visits until our last visit.

We visited again on the last night of our stay and we were very shocked and disappointed with the service. It was a very busy night and after waiting for at least 20 minutes and no one took our orders nor any bread provided, we were contemplating to eat at another restaurant. At this point, the Manager walked up to our table, we explained that we were waiting a long time. Without any apology (and we were not one-off customers) or attempt to rectify the situation, he aggressively said that we were free to leave.

Food is certainly good but a good restaurant is not just about food - they certainly need to focus on customer service for tourists and locals alike.

We ate here last night as it's adjacent to Baie Nettle where we're staying. On a beach walk, we went past and there was a jazz duet that was very good so we decided to return for dinner (unfortunately the duet was gone). Be careful if you're looking for this restaurant as there are two other adjacent venues; Le Sand is at the farthest end (left side facing the sea).

At 7 pm it was quiet - we were one of two tables (eventually there were a few other parties but it was a very slow business night). Owner Gerard, a wonderful man, had a full, well-trained staff working and service was excellent - he served several courses personally. Our oceanside table, 30 feet from the water, was amazing. Nothing like dining under a full moon with stars! We had a 6-course meal capped by a delicious fresh Queen Snapper (Red Snapper in the US) with barleycorn that was superb. Our appetizers were the night's specials. I must say, the salad was my favorite course - due to it's simplicity but delicious taste including a cantaloupe and oil/vinegar dressing (and I love meat, so that's saying something).

Owner Gerard used to operate a restaurant here in SXM but went to eastern Europe some years back for a change, and ran a restaurant there but thankfully decided to return to SXM. He does not market the restaurant in media/print, feeling that word of mouth is the best approach - that's good because this absolute gem of a restaurant would become way too popular, and the lines to get in too long, if promoted.

This one's a true winner.

This place is way beyond a beach spot. The menu is interesting, the staff knows it well and there's PLENTY of staff, all observant and nice to be with. Service was nicely paced and our meals were all excellent, beautifully plated and seasoned.

While we were there, a prearranged group from the St. Martin's Biker Week group arrived for a pre-set lunch, with music and fashion show. They were expected of course but the staff didn't miss a beat and everyone stayed happy.

The beach area is well-manicured with plenty of lounges, umbrellas and cabanas. Like the dining area , the beach is very competently staffed and, if you've eaten at the restaurant, beach access, etc., is gratis.
