“Well worth the price !”

The studio apartment has a (spacious) view of the alley between 2 buildings facing the ocean. Some street noice filters through but it's all quiet by 10 pm. The studio is well equipped and clean. The beach is right outside. Pizza & Thai-food next door. Central Marigot , supermarket & laundry only a couple of blocks away.
The hosts Valerie & Philip were very helpful.

“Cozy comfortable studio thoughtfully furnished, great location”

Furnished studio, small but comfortable, great location and good value. Most liked its comfort location, and privacy. Least liked sleeping with AC, because single fan with no flow through breeze, despite being close to bay, and occasional loud road noise.

Owner met us at car rental (works for Avis) and led us to property, explained things well.
Well lit with modern stove, small fridge, nice cabinets, and eclectic, useful kitchenware and electronics, including wi-fi. Small bathroom not AC'd but very functional, including washer.
Slept well on the full size bed. AC worked well.
Easy walking distance to restaurants, bakery and shopping. Public parking 50m away.
Fourth floor walk up might be difficult for older seniors.

The studio is well located being within walking distance of all of Marigot. We didn't have a vehicle so we walked and took buses to various parts of the island. We enjoyed our stay

“Great Place to Stay”

Wow! What a great 1st trip to the Caribbean! Valerie and Philippe Barbier were wonderfully accommodating hosts. They welcomed us at Princess Juliana airport, brought us to Marigot and introduced us to the studio and its furnishings. We highly recommend the apartment. It is small but tastefully decorated and makes clever use of mirrors to provide a sense of space. It was surprisingly well equipped and there was an unexpected amount of useful stuff tucked away in cupboards and closets. All the appliances worked well and included a washing/drying machine with an excellent user manual. The best thing about it is the apartment is so well situated. The Tourist Bureau is across the street, a supermarket is 10 minutes walk in one direction, the center of Marigot is 10 minutes in the other way, and the marina is even closer. Marigot is a charming French town with good restaurants and the Sarafina patisserie has the best baguettes and pain au chocolat since we visited Paris. Speaking French is not necessary but it enriches the experience. Walk or drive to the 18th century fort in the center of town for great views of the island and the sea. The marina has interesting shops, good well-priced restaurants and possibly the most relaxed vibe for any tourist part of St. Martins. The local buses are a cheap way to travel and experience island culture but taxis are expensive. Although we did not do so, renting a car would be the most sensible thing to do if you want to visit the islands more remote areas. Our stay was very relaxing and the accommodations were perfect for people like us who want a more authentic cultural experience.
