This is very hard to get into and a bit pricey. Eating on the Marina is always fun. They take reservations, I believe.

Our friends at LePetit Hotel recommended this restaurant. So off we went. We drove around Marigot thinking we had missed it. Then we saw the sign above what looked like a sketchy alleyway. With hesitation we walked down the alleyway and then we both looked at each other in surprise as it opened up to a beautiful marina lined with little shops and cafe's. Our table with a view of yachts and sailboats was amazing. The food was amazing and the dessert was incredible. Probably my favorite meal in St. Martin.

We went with our three nieces and sister in law to St Marin. They are fairly simply eaters. This French cuisine was actually something they liked. The girls even tried the frog leg appetizer. The one thing we learned by going in the off season is that the specials are the way to go on the island. The only thing I will say negative is always have your mosquito spray

The Tropicana is a little piece of heaven in paradise. Located in the Marina Royale at the end of the boardwalk, the Tropicana offers indoor and outdoor seating on the boardwalk with a great view of the marina. Owner Christophe is just a joy, making everyone feel like old friends. Tropicana serves authentic, but never stuffy, French cuisine with a touch of the islands. Prices are quite reasonable and serving sizes are actually rather large for a continental restaurant. Tropicana provides excellent service – attentive, but never intrusive or rushed. They have an excellent wine list with reasonably priced wine by the glass. You can count on the traditional favorites like escargot, Salade Nicoise, crème brulee and mousse au chocolat , but the daily specials are always the best. And ask them about the preparation – these people know their food and will explain in great detail the ingredients and preparation. On my last visit, I had a truly excellent risotto with three different roasted meats - lamb, beef and pork in a spectacular red wine sauce – I wanted to lick the plate! The rack of lamb was just perfect. Make sure to try the owner’s homemade banana vanilla rum digestif offered at the end of the meal. They usually close in August and September during the low season.
