Tiki Hut Snorkel Park

Owner description: Although it was brought to safety in the marina, on September 6th 2018 Hurricane Irma destroyed the Tiki Hut totally. We are rebuilding back the Tiki Hut and we are aiming at January 2019 to be back in operation. And we are looking forward to having you on the New Tiki Hut!

We booked through Carnival in July. There were not many people so it was really nice...along with umbrellas and lounge chairs, the basket system mentioned previously and the starter pool for inexperienced snorkelers. The staff is terrific. It is a small cove but you feel very safe and not 'completely out in the open' so you don't feel lost. The instruction is well done and the equipment is well taken care of. It's a pretty neat experience that will only take about 3hours if you have snorkeled before,,,leaving by water taxi and then heading into Philips-berg would be a nice day in St. Maarten before heading back to the ship.

We brought our boys to the Tiki Hut Snorkel Park and had a perfect days. It was the first time our boys (ages 6 and 8) snorkeled in the ocean. The beginner pool was perfect for our less adventurous son. By the end of the afternoon he was snorkeling in 23 feet of water enjoying the fish and sunken objects. Very relaxed atmosphere. The ladies running the hut were fascinating to chat with and helped us better understand life on the island. The Tiki Hut was the perfect place to enjoy the day. I look forward to returning.

We booked the Tiki Hut while on our Oasis cruise. While it is small for the number of people they take, it was easy to spend most of the time exploring in the water. They sunk a sailboat, truck frame, submarine and a few other things making the snorkeling pretty interesting. We saw enough reef fish to satisfy us. Even got to see cuttlefish!
The staff was quite helpful and friendly and the food was good. My only complaint was that people saved themselves lounges with their towels then spent most of the time in the water. Even though it was posted not to do this, no one stopped them. When we wanted to sit down for a while all seats were saved.

We visited while sailing on the explorer of the seas. If you have ever snorkeled before, this is not the excursion for you there were very few fish and the area was very small. There was no reef, only boats and a helicopter that had been sunk. Unfortunately, not many fish had taken up residence here. You would be better off with almost any other snorkeling excursion.

We were met by Mark on the dockside and taken to the boat that transported us to the Tiki Hut - here our valuables could be left in baskets behind the bar - we were able to get our cameras and phones etc as often as we wished whilst knowing they were safe. We had a brief instruction on snorkelling by the little 5 foot pool then we were free to swim - snorkel - sunbathe or have a snack. There was easy access to the sea with steps rather than a ladder. We stayed about 4 hours before taking the boat back to the dockside to join our cruise ship. At the dockside there are of course a number of shops - to be honest I suspect you'll not get any better bargains in town. We loved the Tiki Hut - Thanks Mark and your staff.
