We stumbled on the Ocean Lounge first be accident. My husband and I were staying in Grand Case and had finally ventured into Philipsburg. Unfortunately the town was very quiet as we were there during the holiday season (Queen's Bday, Labor Day). Many shops were closed and the places I had wanted to eat were as well. We found the Holland House, with it's gorgeous patio area and bar, and rejoiced. The drinks were wonderful (the island lover was my favorite) and the service was prompt. We ordered food which was very underwhelming -- the tempura shrimp were soggy and the spring rolls tasted like something you'd get in the cheap Chinese restaurant. But, we enjoyed ourselves enough that when we found ourselves in the same situation a few days later we agreed to give it another go. Again, the drinks were great and this time we did better at ordering The nachos were exactly what you'd expect (piled high and very tasty), the fried beef with mustard was also very good. We ordered the trio of crostinis which were great though not at all what they said they would be on the menu. The beef carpaccio didn't have any truffle or parmesan and the salmon didn't have the fried capers. But still, it was a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the sun. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
