We stumbled on the Ocean Lounge first be accident. My husband and I were staying in Grand Case and had finally ventured into Philipsburg. Unfortunately the town was very quiet as we were there during the holiday season (Queen's Bday, Labor Day). Many shops were closed and the places I had wanted to eat were as well. We found the Holland House, with it's gorgeous patio area and bar, and rejoiced. The drinks were wonderful (the island lover was my favorite) and the service was prompt. We ordered food which was very underwhelming -- the tempura shrimp were soggy and the spring rolls tasted like something you'd get in the cheap Chinese restaurant. But, we enjoyed ourselves enough that when we found ourselves in the same situation a few days later we agreed to give it another go. Again, the drinks were great and this time we did better at ordering The nachos were exactly what you'd expect (piled high and very tasty), the fried beef with mustard was also very good. We ordered the trio of crostinis which were great though not at all what they said they would be on the menu. The beef carpaccio didn't have any truffle or parmesan and the salmon didn't have the fried capers. But still, it was a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the sun. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We stayed at the Holland House and breakfast every day during our 8 day stay. Plenty of choices from buffet to grill options. Food was good and service was good. Best meals were the Dinners we had. The choices were simple to extravagant and everything in between. Ray, the chef and Paul the manager made sure they were meals to remember. If you want fine dining in an outdoor atmosphere don't miss out on this gem.

From the very well stocked wine cellar to the beautiful views evenings are special.

Located in the Holland House Hotel, Philipsburg. We ate dinner here on a couple of occasions during our 2 week stay on St Martin. The food we chose to eat was well cooked, beautifully presented and served by a happy and polite waitress. There is a 3 course daily, set menu which looked very good value. We chose to eat a'la carte and both our meals were delicous, attractive plates of food. Good selection of wine to suit all budgets. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and had a lovely view of the bay during the daytime. The staff seemed to have a 'can do' attitude which made a nice change. Good food for a fair price.

If the Westin Ocean lounge, a great place to eat, a little pricey but a good dining experience. Choose outside dining and listen to the crickets - we thought it was a bird chirpping.

The Holland House Beach Hotel's Ocean Lounge ("La Oceana") offers a variety of prix fix as well as a la carte options. Seafood is the specialty, which I enjoyed as an appetizer, followed by a very good steak. The wine list is extensive and contains a number of quite reasonably priced selections. Service is friendly and attentive, but reset your expectations from Manhattan to a more relaxed "island time" for courses. The retaurant can be entered from Front Street (through the hotel lobby), or directly from the boardwalk. Ocean and port views are good. I would not hesitate to return.
