Description: It's in the Cole Bay area, facing Simpson Bay Lagoon, in Cole Bay, Sint Maarten. La Sucrière on the french side is not related to us. It is a different company with a different management.

“Great croissants and fresh squeezed juices”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

They make the best croissants on the island. You can also get great pastries and fresh squeezed juices including grapefruit juice. They have fresh raspberry tarts that are to die for, and the prices are reasonable.

“Very good pastries in a good location”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Went here for pastries and they were very good. Not quite as good as another place a couple of buildings down. Location is very good right near the heart of Marigot. Worth a stop, especially for the price and to grab a quick snack.

“Great Lunch at an even better price”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

We couldnt believe when we paid for a sandwich, quiche, fresh OJ a fruit tart and water and it was all only $16. Even better it was delicious.
Note their are more than one locations. Tripadvisor confused us. We visited the one in Marigot after shopping the markets in the morning but saw the one on Simpson Bay on our drive home. I dont think their is one in Philipsburg. If you can find it. Its worth it!

“BEST FRENCH BREAD ANYWHERE”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

First the location of La Sucriere should be clarified. It is on the Dutch side of the island on Welfare Road and also on Simpson Bay Lagoon next to Fed Ex but in Cole Bay/Simpson Bay and not Philipsburg. The roadside of this French Bakery/Restaurant is a typical bakery. There is a large deck area with bistro tables and chairs in the back fronting the lagoon. An outstanding place to relax, drink juice, coffee, tea, or a cappuccino while savouring their delicious baked goods. They also have a location on the French side but we prefer the Dutch side location. In our opinion the bread is better there. The staff is friendly, service is good, prices are reasonable, and the food is outstanding. We own a residence in St.Maarten and spend about 7 months there annually. A trip to La Sucriere for a baguette ($1.15 per baguette) is a daily occurance for us. We feel this is one of the top spots on the entire island and if you visit here put this on your do not miss list.
