While the outside of the resort looks like it has not seen much updating, the rooms were great with an updated and clean feel. The folks at the front desk were personable and friendly, Special shoutout to Maisha at the front desk who was super friendly, helpful, and greeted me by name every time. If you happen to stay on a day with multiple cruise ships in town, seeing and feeling the transformation of the boardwalk is incredible.

Sea Palace got its first bonus point with us before we even got there. We were having some issues with flights thanks to the airlines trying to take advantage of US travellers at the end of the US Thanksgiving weekend so I emailed to see if we could book in for an extra night. Bidelca replied to us in no time setting us up in a studio across the hall for the last night. We appreciated the quick response.

Check in was quick and easy. Ricardo set us up in no time and then took us to our room and showed us around including instruction on working the TV/Cable (slightly different than what we're used to). He also took notice that our remote was not working well and the next day it was corrected. We had a one bedroom suite with two baths (one with a washer and dryer), full kitchen (including dishwasher) and a large balcony that overlooked the ocean. Everything was clean and well maintained.

Of course, for ocean lovers, the best part of Sea Palace is its close proximity to the water. The only thing separating the resort from the beach is the boardwalk. We ate our breakfasts and lunches in our room so it was super convenient to go back and forth. And, of course, eating out on the balcony couldn't be beat!

The full supermarket is a bit of a trek when you are carrying a load of groceries so we would recommend a taxi or car when coming back from there. It's an easy walk though when you are not loaded down. It's about a mile or so away from Sea Palace. The little store onsite has only some water, pop. chocolate bars and chips so don't expect to get any groceries right there. There's also a little market nearby for odds and ends.

The area in front of Sea Palace is for its use only so it was never a problem to get a spot under cover on the beach. Lots of umbrellas and chairs were set up early and we never had that "reserved" problem you get at the all-inclusive resorts. There were four beach towels in the room which were changed out on Wednesday when housekeeping came in. I heard that you could request a change at the front desk but we didn't feel it necessary so I can't speak to that.

The on-site restaurant was not yet reopened from renovations so, obviously, we didn't try that but we ate dinner at three places very close to Sea Palace and one a little further down the boardwalk. We tend to eat our dinners a little later but had to adjust that here as the restaurants along the boardwalk tend to close a little early. This is, of course, understandable given how quiet the area gets once the sun goes down. They can't stay open for two or three people. If you want to venture further, we understand that there are lots of places open later elsewhere.

After the end of the full week, we moved to a studio unit on the street side of the building for our last night. The room was nice and clean, and still had a full kitchen and balcony. There was no washer and dryer in this unit but that was no big deal. The view on this side is not much to look at. St. Maarten is still recovering from Irma and the effects are more obvious from this side of the building. It's important to understand that life anywhere is not just what we experience while on a glorious vacation and I appreciated the reminder.

Every Sea Palace employee that we crossed paths with was kind, friendly and helpful. Ricardo kindly booked an Island Tour for us with Jenny (who was wonderful!) and Maisha was super helpful. You couldn't help but feel upbeat when having a conversation with her.

We will certainly be back to Sea Palace some day. We loved our time here and can't wait to return!

The Sea Palace was great. Front desk was always helpful and the accommodations were amazing. We had a one bedroom unit with 2 full baths and a nice kitchen and living room. The view from the balcony was a 180 degree view of the bay and ocean and you could see Sana’a off the coast very clearly.
We rented a car and spent our days exploring St Martin and then came home each night to the amazing resort. Swimming at the resort beach was great too.

We stayed in the Sea Palace, which is at the further end (less desirable) of Front Street. The hurricane damage was evident more at this end of town. The staff were friendly. The cleaning staff kept the hallways and stairs very clean, The room was overlooking the beach and ocean, which was lovely. The room was well-equipped with fridge and stove, and two showers, and one bedroom / separate living room. All in all, we had a pleasant say in the hotel. There was some mild drain smell on some days, but it was not enough to detract from the room, which was really nice. There is an additional electricity charge of minimum $35, which I was less thrilled about. The Chinese restaurant on the ground floor I cannot recommend, based on quality / price. It was quite expensive even for noodles. We ate better and cheaper at every other restaurant in town. The beach was very nice, the sea was warm, and the beach attendants were helpful in setting up umbrellas and chairs. The swimming outside the hotel was great. Our room was next to a bar, and it was slightly noisy, but just on Friday and Saturday - no problem.

Hard to beat that million dollar view if you happen to get an ocean front unit ! The high end interior finishes are almost as nice as the staff. Sure we had a couple issues, but the staff worked hard to address them as best they could. Great location on the bay !

Room tip: Penthouse unit master bedroom ceiling very low.
