We stayed at this resort for a week and it was great. We got a studio and it was equipped with a full kitchen, and there was a separate living area if we wanted one by using a push away wall. The room and resort were clean. The pool and beach were great and we were able to see sting ray, squid and other tropic fish just by snorkeling around the beach area. The restaurants were good as well. Toppers was a bit pricey for us, we also ate at A Bon Apetit which was amazing. We went to the grocery store near the Burger King on the main road as they had a larger selection and decent prices for an island and also compared to the other smaller groceries near the hotel. We also went to Philipsburg for a day of shopping and it was great. There was only one cruise ship that day so it as not too crowded. We took a taxi and pretty much anywhere we wanted to go was about $15-18 dollars which is a lot better than renting a car. ( Renting a car required a $900 hold for any guest wishing to rent a car)
We also went scuba diving at Ocean Explorers and that was amazing.
Pros: Beach, Pool, food, friendly staff
Cons: We were on the bottom floor and there was a lot of noise coming from people walking the halls earlier in the morning, such as crying and yelling children which woke us up. It got to a point were we were like "what is going on?" Also the bed was very hard.

Great resort and location on dutch side of island. We had room with ocean view and brand new appliances including dishwasher plus two flat screen televisions which is very good thing if you going on vacation with your kids.Air conditioner was working great which is good because we had very hot and humid week.Restaurant by hotel need little upgrade and maybe night life should have some professionals bands at list on weekends to keep people at hotel. If you like reggae music it is all over the island. We visited Sunset beach restaurant(must visit great food)which is wright by famous Juliana airport and than find that this restaurant was rewarded by: Tripadvisor :one of the best on island.if you want see island make sure rent a car we had for seven days only $32 for fuel and we were all over the island.Good thing if you coming from USA that is all you need on dutch side.If you ask would I come back again the answer is yes but in winter time.

Room Tip: get ocean view that is all you need

We had a great vacation at Flamingo Beach. This resort has a very nice beach and pool. Try to get a room with an ocean view, it is well worth it. The area is perfect for walking to restaurants and food shopping. Easy trip from the airport too. All in all we have no complaints about the resort and in fact were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the resort for the price. We would definitely recommend this resort and would return without hesitation.

My best friend and I stayed here, in April 2013, for about a week. We celebrated our birthdays with a girls trip and this place was great. The room was spacious, great kitchen with plenty of utensils, dishes, glasses...pretty much anything you need to cook a meal. I loved the room divider which added privacy to an already decent size room. Having two tvs was also a plus, even though we weren't there to watch tv. The staff was great. Very helpful. The parking spaces are really small, but this seemed to be commonplace in St. Maarten. Great beach...plenty of chairs. Toppers was great for breakfast! We really enjoyed out stay here. I would definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: A studio is plenty of room for 2 people.

Just returned from an incredible week at the Flamingo. We have used timeshares throughout the Caribbean and have to say that the staff make this property a cut above everyone else. We checked in at 2:00 and the room is not ready (no surprise - it's 4:00). Went to Topper's for beer and burger, came back at 3:00 and room not ready - again, no surprise. A staff member came over to where we were sitting and then offered a switch of rooms that was ready now. Now that was a surprise.

The room itself - perfect for us. We had a one bedroom overlooking the water with a nice kitchen, good bath and huge king sized bed. The kitchen comes fully equipped which is great. Only downside was the door to the balcony was incredibly hard to open.

The beach - great. Nice water, some snorkeling opportunities, enough shade and accommodating staff who set up umbrellas, chairs, etc. The pool - we didn't use it much as it was full of kids squirting each other with water toys. The "action" seems to happen over there with music trivia, bingo, music, etc. There is also a smaller beach which is also very nice.

Tennis - we played a lot and loved it. court was in good shape and secured with a lock and key to keep it that way. You have to make a reservation and then get security to come unlock it for you, but they were very accommodating and the hassle worth it to keep it in such good shape.

The location of the Flamingo is great. You can walk to the little deli and buy bread, cheese, pastries, etc. You can walk farther down to Welfare Road to the bigger supermarket which is very well equipped. We took the courtesy shuttle to Royal Palm and then walked next door to the supermarket and then walked back up the hill home. Mostly sidewalk and no problem, really. Also if you don't feel like renting a car and even though we planned to, didn't, you can walk again down to Welfare road and get a cab to take you to Maho/Mullet/Phillipsburg for 1.50 each way per person. They are just vans with signs posted on the front as to where they are going. It took us 30 seconds each way to get one and had a fabulous time at Maho watching the planes come in and snorkeling. That is one great beach.

We lost power one night and the generator kicked in immediately. My hairdryer blew, went down to front desk to report it and by the time I got back to my room, housekeeping was there with a replacement. Unbelievable.

We had a late flight (4:00) and checkout is at 10 a.m., No problem - you can sign up for a "changing room" for 30 minutes so you can get ready for your flight.

Can't wait to go back and wish I was there now!
