“Good value, friendly and nice place...”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

Well, it's not a big and shiny overpriced resort, but still very nice and beautiful place.
The room was spacious, clean, the bed very comfortable, you have a well equipped kitchen and a large balcony. Our room was looking over the street and a restaurant with some music and people talking, but still no problem to sleep, as soon as you close your window, you can't hear a thing. Of course the rooms with ocean view are better for sure, so if I go again to St Maarten, I'll definitely choose an ocean view room in the same hotel.
Also, you can go buy some food or drinks in the closest supermarket, only 20-30 meteres from the hotel or find a nice place to eat or a bar just walking on the main street...
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a private beach to the hotel. It's a small beach and it's a little crowdy, but not too much. You can relax there and make some snorkeling, there is a lot of interesting fishes and if you are a snorkeling fan, it's worth seeing :)
The restaurant on the beach - Toppers - is a nice place, but a little bit overrated and overpriced. In my opinion you can find better place for the same price. But of course it's personal choice.
It's worth staying in this hotel and you'll be really pleasantly surprised!

Room Tip: We didn't stay in an ocean view room, but from my personal impressions the view is really cool a...

After doing some research and reading reviews, I was a little concerned about our one week time share exchange stay at the Flamingo Beach Resort. After getting there, and staying a week, I was very pleasantly surprised. Our "studio" room was about 12 x 30 feet plus a patio with table and chairs. We had a full kitchen (including dishwasher!), a king size bed, a living-dining area, working air conditioning, and two flat screen TVs with US stations. The room was clean, the grounds and buildings outside were immaculate, the infinity pool was big. the beach was practically on your doorstep, there were activities for the guests if you chose to participate, there was a restaurant on the beach, and the staff was pleasant and efficient. The only "complaint" I had was that the restaurant was understaffed and service suffered on busy nights, and you couldn't get a burger or sandwich after 4:00 p.m., but you didn't have to eat at the restaurant and there were a good variety of other places to eat nearby. All in all, an enjoyable place.

Room Tip: Some of the ground floor rooms have a lot of pedestrian traffic right outside the patio, but for us...

Wonderful place to stay. Close to the airport. Large rooms, comfortable bed, kitchen well stocked. Large pool and wonderful beach area. Bring a blow up raft or just buy one. Great beach for swimming and floating. Stores are close one by burger king best selection. We rented a car, did not need to, you can take day trips. Taxi $12 from airport. Just FYI later the nite goes the tax prices go up. Lot of places to eat close. Nice day drink specials. Nite boat trips $15 all you can drink can walk to boat location. Be safe, stay where people are and ask locals what to go see. We felt very safe here, went out to eat and to the casino right across the street. We were told not to travel at night to much so we only did during the day. Driving was a bit on the rough side with speed bumps and they drive way faster than we do. Great place to stay and quiet. Topper right on site had good food too. Will go back.

Room Tip: Beach views are great, we did not upgrade this time since we are not in our room a lot. Building 7 w...

We spent 1 week at the Flamingo with a great walk-out, beach level room right next to the restaurant. We loved the location, being able to talk to each of the staff and other guests as they walked by. Very friendly atmosphere, raked beach every morning, excellent staff at Topper's restaurant. The front desk staff were a little less friendly than the rest of the staff. This is not a five star resort and could use some renovation in some areas, but it meets our level of accommodations and I would return again and again.

We did have trouble finding the resort in the rental car; maybe they should place a large sign down at the main road.

An increase in nightly activities around the restaurant or on the beach would help attract night life after the sunsets. Why return to the room when paradise is outside your front door.

Overall this is a great place to get away and relax.

Me and my girlfriend stayed for a week in the beautiful island of St Martin only to find out that behind the idyllic beaches and the amazing sunsets there was a dark side to the island.
We where robbed on the fourth day of our stay and we faced lots of problems when we tried to catch our plane back to home. We where denied boarding and had to find a place near the airport to stay for one night, hoping we'd board the next day.
We went to the Flaming Beach Resort where, for the first time since our holidays started to fall apart, we found people willing to help us.
My review is not about the resort itself, because we cannot say we had the chance to enjoy it, but about the staff, their professionalism and the support we got on the moment we needed it the most.
Thank you so much for all the help and for the good energies.
We finally managed to get a plane home and I had to make sure to thank the staff of the Flaming Beach Resort.

Nice place. It seems to be in the process of a significant upgrade, as there was a lot of work being done on other rooms, with new refrigerators being moved in and other work going on. It's on a very nice beach, with a great view unless you have a garden view room (get the ocean view). The restaurant on-site is just so-so. There are better places within walking distance. We liked staying here and would do so again if we return to St. Martin. In-room wi-fi was an unexpected plus.

Room Tip: Get and ocean view room.

My Husband and I stayed over for two weeks at the hotel on our Honeymoon,we were delayed due to weather conditions so I waS relived to get there the hotel staff in the afternoon were really lovely and everyone remembered us due to our UK accent!
The room size was very large and more than big enough for two people. We were lucky enough to have a large terrace hot tub and a grill on the top floor and it was amazing.
The only downside is that if your bit of a clean freak like my husband and I the house-keeping staff do not clean any of the surfaces or table which are filthy and the walls were very dirty.
When we checked out the girl informed us that we have paid the tax?we were confused so she got quite impatience and was very rude. Where as the first lady with a wonderful smile was so pleasant.
The beach Is very nice. During the night we went out for a few mins in our hire car to find our car park space to be gone due to the Casino near by.
