My wife and I just returned from a weeks exchange with RCI. We had a room on the third floor, and right on the end looking down at the pool and Gingerbread Café. As we spent most of our time outside, and on our balcony we were able to enjoy all of what was going on down below. Our problem was that we couldn't seem to stay up past 9 PM. We were never annoyed with any of the noise or related activities going on below our unit. Access to the beach is awesome. We took our spot every day by the jetty on the right hand side. We rented a car, but couldn't seem to want to leave our beautiful, secluded strand of beach. Wave action was great almost everyday. The water was crystal clear, even at depths of 20-30 feet or more. People were snorkeling on both jetty's and waves were crashing almost constantly. Having the Gingerbread Café on site is also a bonus. We rented a car with Starlite Car Rentals, which was a good idea as they always had representatives available to solve ay problems that may have come up during our stay. Tip for those who want to purchase groceries, we found the closest grocery store to be the Econo Food market. Not the huge selections and choices that we have here in the states, but basics and pretty good prices. Overall, with the resort being an older one, our stay was excellent. Everything worked, and was well maintained. My only complaint would be that they consider putting sliding screens on the door to the balconies. It would have been nice to fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves instead of the drone of the A/C unit.

Room Tip: We were happy with a room on 3/4th floor, and close to the stairwells. We preferred to use the stair...

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Belair Beach Hotel. We communicated with the staff in advance of our trip to find out what was stocked in the the room and they answered us promptly so that we could come prepared. We also took advantage of Starlite car rental which is located at the hotel. They not only met us at the airport with our vehicle, but also offered a driver to bring us to the hotel free of charge since we did not know our way. Though the rooms may be a bit dated, they are very clean with the basic amenities to meet our needs for the week. You can head down to the grocery store to buy anything else you need. You really are coming here for the beach. Little Bay is absolutely gorgeous! There are only 2 hotels in this bay and Belair is one of them. We absolutely loved that we had designated chairs for our week's stay, floaties and beach toys available for the kids by the pool area, beach towels are provided as well. We ate at the Gingerbread Cafe several times and enjoyed their BBQ night. I have to commend the staff as they treat you like family. I got a very bad sunburn my first day there and they provided me with fresh Aloe leaf cut from their gardens to treat my sunburn. The hotel is close to everything provided you have a car, which I would highly recommend renting so that you can explore the 30+ other beaches on the island. The highlight of your stay here would be their piece of Little Bay which is the best beach we visited outside of Le Galion (#1 for the kids). We would not hesitate to stay here again.

I have owned timeshare here for about 25 years. The view from my room is phenomenal, a few short steps to the beach and the sea, family friendly but adult travelers will love it as well, the staff remains year after year and remembers you, if not by name they know your likes, dislikes, and needs, Gingerbird Cafe on site offers everything you could want or need for every meal, and last but not least it is safe and comfortable.

The Belair Beach Hotel prides themselves on having the cleanest and prettiest beach and it is. My wife and I spent 9 days on the island and went to almost every beach there was and at the end of the trip we had both decided that the best sand and water was at our hotel. The snorkeling was also amazing on the left side of beach towards Divi hotel. We saw every species of fish that we saw on our dives and I found 4 octopus in the little cove as well which are very difficult to see anywhere in the world. The rooms at the Belair are very nice, we enjoyed the scenic view from the top floor. If you plan on spending more time on the beach the 1st floor would be better for easy access to drinks, sunscreen, ect. The staff was very nice overall, and tried to be as helpful as possible. The Gingerbread Cafe is okay, everything on the island as far as food is expensive, the best food for the price we found was at the roadside cafe's and trailers. We did enjoy the all you can eat bbq on Monday at the Gingerbread Cafe with the steel drum band. The A/C in our room was not the greatest but got cold enough at night for us to sleep comfortably, it may have just been our room. It also would have been nice to have our room cleaned one more time during the week but once during the week was refreshing. Overall beautiful view, beautiful beach, we would stay again if we come back.

Room Tip: 4th floor for view and relaxing, 1st floor for those who plan on staying at the beach a long time...

The location is excellent - very close to the town, and accessing it was a breeze. My only problem with the rooms (in all rooms that were booked) was the atmosphere. Although air-conditioned, it was humid, and it caused a lot of condensation on my camera equipment.

Customer service however is excellent, and some of the more senior members of the staff especially treated us like family - literally! We came to SXM to perform at a few concerts and when they - front desk staff in particular - found out about it, they attended the concerts and supported us!
Their warmth and hospitality was greatly appreciated, adding to our beautiful experience in SXM.

We had a great time - The beach is absolutely beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is small but OK. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The food at the cafe was good although there are many other restaurants a short drive from the hotel. Recommend renting a car - walking is not very easy with the narrow road. The only minor problem was some very small ants on the counter - we checked with the staff and they gave us some spray and over the course of the week the problem receded. The next time I go to St. Maarten I will stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room above the 1st floor - 2nd or above - there are trees that will block the beautiful...

We stayed at Belair Beach Hotel, enjoyed our 1-week visit and loved the location with beautiful turquoise waters lapping soft waves on the beach. Our 2-bedroom unit had a king bed and a double bed--each with their own bathroom. Even though the kitchen was efficiently small, it had a full size refrigerator, 2-burner stove top, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven. Maid service came in the middle of the week with clean towels and cleaned the unit. The sounds of the waves can be heard inside the resort's units--all with a great beach view. Beach chairs are reserved for the week. The hotel is not a new facility but has had upgrades and is clean. Phillipsburg was a 20-minute walk the local cruise port with lots of shops and many jewelry stores. Taxis are the only mode of transportation if you don't rent a car (Airport to hotel - $15USD, Hotel to Marigot $20--one way). The staff were helpful and friendly. Gingerbread Cafe had good food and Divi next door had a wonderful continental breakfast at Toucans. Local restaurants highly recommended is Chesterfields in Phillipsburg and Enochs (between 12 noon and 1pm for good specials) in Marigot. The US dollar is accepted everywhere we visited. The Belair Hotel is a quiet location and does not have a loud party scene such as is found in Simpson Bay.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor and experienced a good view, slightly blocked with a swaying palm tree...
