Jade Mountain is extraordinary. No other place like it in the world! If you want luxury this is your place. The views are unreal and the service is impeccable. You feel like you own the whole island. There is not one bad thing to say about this place, it's truly magical and well worth the money. Make sure you go on the sail boat for a sunset cruise during your stay, it was one of the highlights of our trip. Scuba was great also. If any of the reviews on here have complaints than those people are just out of their minds! If you want peace and tranquility look no further! GO HERE!

It is poshy. It has great view. It is great R&R if that's what you are looking for. However, there are a lot of cons to this beautiful resort: 1. it is rather in the middle of nowhere which I trust it must be due to the scenic location but if you are going there for a weekend, then you will not have the time to go anywhere else, 2. the service is satisfactory but could be better for the price and class, 3. as for food, please see 2. above, 4. i love the open concept but good luck sleeping as birds will wake up at the wee hours of the morning and feast on any food in your room, 5. if you are elderly or out of shape, then reconsider the stairs and hills, 6. make sure that you bring someone you can spend time and whom you love, because there is nothing to do there. I did ask for a tennis trainer. Again, due to the location, he had to drive in... I waited and waited then was told he was late... I waited again... then it started raining which is no one's fault but this was 3 hours later.

We have recently returned from a week's stay here. Nothing but praise. The sanctuaries are worthy of the name. We had booked a sun sanctuary, so had a room on D level, on the end. Our view was a full-on view of the Pitons. It took us a day to get used to being in the open, and neither of us had the best night's sleep on night one, but after that, we were sleeping soundly. The sounds at night are the water spilling over the infinity pool, crickets and tree frogs. No problem with mosquito bites. Just one for me the entire stay, as opposed to the eight I got between leaving Jade Mountain and arriving at Gatwick!
If you are a beach person, then this probably wouldn't be my first choice. For me, what stands out here is the amazing rooms and private pools. The pools are chilly. Best to jump in and get it over with! The beach is a downhill walk (you'll need the shuttle back up in that heat) and is shared with another (sister) hotel, Anse Chastanet. Anse Chastenet is a nice hotel, but not in the same league at all. If you are paying Jade
prices, why would you want to use shared facilities?
The Jade Mountain restaurant is superb and offers fine dining and excellent service. All inclusive is the way to go, as your choices for dining elsewhere are limited to Anse Chastenet, unless you wish to negotiate a taxi ride down the very bumpy and long track down from the hotel.
So, in short, a wonderful and unique hotel. Very much a destination for honeymoons and anniversaries. Most guests are American (over 75% when we were there). We were outnumbered as Brits, not that that matters, but is worth noting.
Only trouble now is that nowhere else will compare, unless of course we pay these prices again!

As a regular 5-star hotelgoer (mainly in the context of business accommodation, not necessarily leisure) and having thoroughly researched this resort, I had built up a certain level of expectation prior to arrival. Jade Mountain completely blew through it with its room and service.

We stayed in room JC2, a star sanctuary, and our butlers were Vito (who was a "master" butler of sorts, I forgot the terminology!) Kieran and Earl. They were absolutely delightful.

Obviously things are overpriced here, but hello...you came to Jade Mountain. The food was fine- Jade Club up by the Celestial Terrace (come here to stargaze at night!) and Treehouse about 3 minutes down and then restaurants on Anse Chastanet Beach. We didn't bother because it's a bumpy ride, so we ended up opting for the in-room snacks/menus/bubbly. Beware of the birds though - wrap your leftovers up or call the butler to take away the remains of any food ASAP.

Re: activities, we were able to book a private charter sail with a 3rd party sail operator that came to meet us at Anse Chastanet beach with no problems. The Scuba hut also helps arrange tours (pricing was similar, maybe slightly higher). For normal watersports, like paddle boarding, kayaking, windsurfing, etc. there's a Jade Mountain hut to the right of the beach bar, and for those activities there is no additional charge. I would say "free" but you defo paid for that in the room charge!

My only (firstworld) regrets about the Jade Mountain experience - the pool water was freezing ("room temperature" is the euphemism they use), and the bubble bath had too many bubbles...that overflowed the tub and nearly knocked over my glass of champagne. Oh, and it would have been nice to be higher up, so my photos of the pitons from the infinity pool wouldn't include the trees/brush below, but that's what strategic angling / photo cropping is for. I had requested a rectangular pool with the long edge facing the pitons (some have the short edge) so there is a possibility that those types of rooms didn't exist any farther up than the 2nd level. And finally, wear the earplugs! You'd be surprised how loud the chirping birds are.

My husband planned our honeymoon at this resort and it was a 5-star experience in every way!
-Arrival: We were greeted like royalty by 3 members of the staff who helped us with our luggage, guided us to our "sanctuary", provided us with cool, wet towels, and served us refreshing tropical drinks.
-Service: We were provided with a cell phone for contacting a butler or maid service at any time during our stay. We had them draw a bubble bath for us one day before we headed back from the beach. Our private fridge was stocked with drinks and snacks, and each afternoon a bento box of fresh snacks was delivered to our suite.
-Accommodations: Our sanctuary was a 3-wall, open-air masterpiece of modern tropical design with tropical plants providing the transition from the indoors to the exterior. While relaxing in our private infinity pool, we could watch the sunset over the ocean and the green jungle below. The cutest little humming bird would greet us each morning as it hovered by the tropical flowers. Our bed was very comfortable and covered by a net. We never had any pests or bugs in our suite.
Each night there was a turn-down service which included the lighting of tiny little candles all throughout our room- it was very romantic!
-Dining: The food at the restaurant upstairs was to die for!
There were was also a great burger shack on the beach "around the corner" from the main beach stretch. Great burgers and drinks!
-Beach: The beach had dark sand which got a bit hot, but the cute little crabs that would pop out of their holes in the sand and scurry away were so fun to see!
The snorkeling was incredible. There were lots of colorful fishes to swim amongst, especially "around the corner" of the main beach.

Our experience of Jade Mountain was a very good one.

Pro's:
-The rooms are just stunning, the view is stunning.
-Food is very good.
-good activities, jungle biking with Tyson was a highlight.
- beautiful wildlife, esp bird life all around.

Con's
- the pool water is FREEZING, beyond freezing. Absolute max 5 mins in this. Kind of defeats the point of having your own pool.
- dive centre (I know not a part of hotel directly) is poorly equipped with possibly dangerous equipment I.e. 3 dives and 2 faulty depth gauges. For this money, hotel needs to provide something better please.
-Room 'upgrades' may not leave you in a better room. We paid for a moon room. On arrival we were upgraded to a sun room which was badly overlooked. We declined this room and the only option left if we didn't want to move mid-stay was a star room, which they told us was a moon room.
- it's all-inclusive but they make you sign for EVERYTHING. It's a real pain and we got the feeling this is just in the hopes of a gratuity.

Overall a great experience but too many cons for the money spent. I really wanted this to be a five star review, but for the money spent I can't justify it.

We just returned from a 6 day getaway to Jade Mountain to enjoy some special time without the kids. WOW!! What an amazing resort. The view from the room was amazing, though having one full wall open air was both breathtaking and interesting. Be sure to use the eye covers and earplugs they provide to be able to sleep well. The staff at both locations (Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet) are fantastic and they look after every detail with warmth and enthusiasm. We tried all the restaurants throughout the Anse Chastanet resort and though they were all very good we kept coming back to the Jade Mountain Club for dinner each night as it was such an amazing experience and the view of the pitons and the ocean is absolutely beautiful! We would highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to get pampered . . . we met many honeymooners who were doing just that!

Room Tip: All the rooms have amazing views and unique layouts but be sure to ask for a pool in your room if yo...
