Airport: small, organized. A hotel rep was waiting for us, very professional and polite.
Drive to Hotel: we did not understand what the fuzz was all about. Yes, it is not the USA type of road, but by no means you have to drive through a wooden bridge. Roads are narrow and people may not be used to it. It seems that the island's drivers have an unwritten code of rules, and what appears chaotic to us, is quite normal for them. No worries, drive was fine.
Hotel welcome: from the gate to the waiters, every one knows that you are coming. Paperwork and room in-service was quick.
Rooms: we tried both resorts during our stay to have a comparison point. Both amazing, but nothing tops our own pool in the room and the service that comes with the Jade mountain. We had water, fresh fruit, ice, even a daily bento box in the room every day. Bugs were not a big issue for us, but I can see how some may bothered. Bring repellents, use the bed net and allow them to fire some citronella in the room and you will be fine.
We found the steps and hills (rooms to beach, to restaurants) to be a nice change from elevators and carpets, enjoyed the walks. If you hate it, they have shuttles available 24/7
Beach: small, wonderful, quiet, full of animal life. Can snorkel or scuba from shore.
We ran one day from the hotel to the plantation, I must say is was gorgeous. great way to explore the property and get some exercise done. Which leads to eating: several choices all good, not amazing. The view and service from the top restaurant was great, a must do. Indian restaurant was quiet and romantic. We didn't prepay for food.
Island: we hired SIMON, a water taxi. He hangs by the beach and offers his services. For a reasonable fee he took us one day to climb the Pitons ( the shorter and hardest) one day. And to an island excursion the next day. It included waterfalls, mud volcano, hot springs, downtown, shopping and some real rasta food.
Simon was great, attentive, funny and courteous. I highly recommend hiring him directly and not through hotel. Left him a nice rain jacket as a tip.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique. Can not pick one in particular.

Well if you're looking for the treat of a lifetime Jade Mountain Resort in Soufriere, St. Lucia is one for the bucket list! It's at the higher end of the pricing richter scale but well worth every last penny. Every room is arrayed with its own infinity pool and the rooms are wall less. Yup there are no walls so you wake up in the morning to the majesty of the Piton Mountains. They are so close you feel you can touch them. Not a bad place to enjoy your morning cuppa! The food is superior to many hotels on the island, the dining is definitely fine. One of the most amazing things about this place is the people who work there. Nothing is too much for them to do for you. Also for those of you who like to stay at accommodations that are environmentally and socially conscious, this is a perfect place to stay. As far as the memorability factor goes the hotel owns a farm and the chef accompanies the guests on a tour of the farm to experience the picking of fresh produce, which he will prepare and tantalise their tastebuds with when he gets it back to the hotel. There's a chocolate festival every winter season and the chef also conducts an amazing cocoa bean tour but book early if you want to get in on this one. This hotel is sheer elegance. If you've got a special occasion or just feel like a bit of a splurge, I'd say go for this one. The sister hotel Anse Chasenet is just down the hill and the Jade Mountain guests are offered the luxury of using the facilities down there also. Well worth the dosh!

One word WOW! when my wife and I walked into our room we were beyond words. The rooms are truly one of a kind. There is no forth wall!! You can never leave your room and have a wonderful experience at Jade. If your booking get a room with a pool, you will not be sorry. Also do the all inclusive package it's expensive but will save you money in the long run. The food was top notch. The resort is beautifully designed. I have stayed in 5 star resorts all over the world and Jade might be one of my favorite. Anything you need, it's done. The only negative and it didn't bother us, it's good excercise. The beach is a nice hike down a pretty steep hill. The have transportation to and from the beach if you need it. We did some scuba diving and was very happy with the shop down at the beach. All in all one of our favorite places.

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at Jade Mountain. We had an amazing time! Initially we had a difficult time justifying spending the money, but it was definitely worth it! I couldn't imagine spending our honeymoon anywhere else. It is a small resort with only 29 rooms at Jade Mountain and 49 at the lower sister resort Anse Chastanet. We enjoyed the lack of people that would be at one of the larger resorts.

Everyday we visited the sister beach, Anse Mamin. There is a water taxi that you can take to this beach at the scuba center or you can walk from the main beach. The staff at this beach made us feel special. The bartender welcomed us by name every time we arrived. We also met Stone Man who works very hard to keep the beach looking spectacular. He has created beautiful stone walls around all of the palm trees. He went out of his way to make sure we were having a good time, we really enjoyed chatting with him. Everyday, except Saturday, a chef rides via a water taxi to the beach. He makes the best burgers. The buns are freshly made at the beach restaurant. They are similar to a flat bread and are cooked on the grill. Yum! There were four sides served with the burgers that varied every day and were always very good.

The food at the Jade Club was very good. We ate there every night, except for two. Everything we ordered was amazing. I had the best pork chop and my husband enjoyed the fresh mahi-mahi. The menu was different each of the seven nights and amazing. Before the dinner course they served freshly made sorbet. This was one of my favorite parts of the meal. Tuesday night we went to the rum party at the beach bar. We were surprised to find this also included dinner on the beach. The food and ambiance were spectacular. If your trip includes a Tuesday night I recommend going to the rum party and having dinner on the beach.

I recommend Jade Mountain to anyone looking for a romantic Caribbean vacation.

My husband and I were expecting paradise, especially considering the prices for our room with a plunge pool facing the ocean. The flight was easy enough since it was direct, but it was a long, bumpy and uncomfortable trip to the hotel. St Lucia has a lot of poverty, and this was apparent from the drive to this five star property so that it wold be impossible to deny a slight guilty feeling over the excess and riches we were afforded at Jade Mountain. What we did not realize when we booked the hotel through our travel agent was that the beach is down an extremely steep, narrow and long road from the resort. Furthermore, it was necessary to call a van to drive guests down to the beach. The beach was very crowded and felt very much like a wild strip which was not pleasant. The water was not particularly clear, and there was very little privacy. We were very disappointed, and for this reason I would never return. As for our room, it was truly amazing as it was built into a cliff with no windows or walls on one side so it was really al fresco living! The views of the pitons were amazing, as was the sunrise/sunset. The only problem was lots of bugs at night so I was bitten very badly. The restaurant was delicious, and exorbitantly expensive. The service was excellent, and the private butler was truly indulgent though at times, we felt a lack of privacy. I wold not return to Jade Mountain, as it was not worth the money, and the beach was not very nice either. For this price, I would go to an Amman resort in the Souh Pacific or someplace else in the Carribean with a better beach.
