Take an evening to enjoy this wonderful local gem in Soufrieres! You will be welcomed warmly by the owner, and well-taken care of throughout the evening by he and his lovely and attentive staff. The menu, which changes frequently, features locally-sourced choices - from delicious soups ( we tried both the pumpkin and the more adventurous cow-heel soup) and salads to abundant ceviches as appetizers, fresh-caught fish and lobster as well as perfectly spiced pepper pot beef and a tangy boneless BBQ chicken leg. Generous sides accompanied our meals. Make sure to save room for dessert, too - mango cheesecake with banana ice cream was offered on our visit. Many beer and wine options too. We left Divine Delightz feeling well-sated and so happy for our memorable evening. P.S. The restaurant was full of locals enjoying their meals when we arrived, always a good sign.

I am so happy to be the first to write a glowing review of Divine Delightz. My husband and I recently spent 10 days in St. Lucia and eating at Divine Delightz was one of the highlights of our trip. Well, we ate there 3 nights out of our 7 in Soufriere, so maybe that is an understatement. Maybe it was THE highlight of our dining experience in St. Lucia.

In looking for a place to eat, we kept hearing rumors about this place that had just been opened by the previous chef of Jade Mountain. In classic St. Lucia style, with it's lack of street markers and limited signage, our only guidance to find it was " it's near the lumber yard on the road you take to get to Diamond Falls"

WOW are we happy we stumbled upon it. It was the best food of our trip, and some of the best food we have ever had. It is a neat wooden house-like building next to the lumber yard on the back side of town, which we learned is called "New Development". This might sound like a less than picturesque spot, but upon arrival you forget all your yearning for ocean views. For one, you get ocean views everywhere else. What you do not get everywhere else is amazing food, friendly and relatable staff and a bit of peace and quiet.

My husband and I found the restaurants on the main drag in Soufriere to be a bit of a nuisance at times. In the heart of Soufriere there are many sights, smells, and sounds to deal with. Caravans of stray dogs, chickens, solicitations, smokers, etc. It can detract from your dining experience. The resorts are lovely, but the food is expensive and quite often we found our meals to be less than impressive.

Divine Delightz is just the opposite. Away from the bustle of town (by about 3 mins. drive) and , delicious, 5 star quality food. Clean, with a dimmed lighting that gives it a wonderful ambience. Did we mention crazy affordable? (we actually said, hey you guys could really charge a lot more for this!) The Lobster Tail was only $40! AND after we ate there two nights and left so full we could barely move, we wised up and actually comfortably shared the Lobster Tail the last night. Best meal ever. The Green Fig & Saltfish as well as the Mahi Mahi ceviche appetizers were amazing. Their chicken pasta is to die for. When I took leftovers home one night, the chef actually gave me additional and not requested garlic bread to go with it. How kind is that? We had an amazing, uniquely light Chocolate Cake. but the best dessert we had was the Passion Fruit Cheesecake. Best cheesecake I've ever had, and we travel and take food seriously so we've had some great food.

I hope you can tell from this meager review how great the food was, if only from the fact that I remember every single thing we ate and think fondly upon our meals with nostalgia even though we barely left. The chef would stop by our table to ask how we enjoyed everything and talk about our vacation with us. On our last night there they gave us some special treats as a thanks for coming in so many times in their only 2 weeks of being open. That is great service. We actually asked THEM if they had a Tripadvisor account (a reversal of the norm, many places asked us to review them) so we could sing their praises. Glad to see their page is finally up and running. My only complaint is that they don't have a restaurant here in Santa Barbara, California where I live.

If you are visiting Soufriere in St. Lucia this is a must. Hopefully they will have a sign up soon, but if not just ask about the new restaurant by the lumber yard on the road to Diamond Falls with the Jade Mountain chef. It is worth the effort and you'll be glad you did it. High quality food, high caliber people.
