We went on a tour of the Botanical Gardens in Sept 08. Our tour guide was Alexander. He was knowledgable and make the tour very fun. The tour was interesting and beautiful. I would recommend going with a guide if it is available to you. We learned so much more with Alexander then we would have on our own. Plus, many of the guides depend on leading a guided tour as their income and I feel it's important to support the island when you are there.

We saw many different types of plants from all over the world. The waterfall is beautiful as well. Alexander took some pictures of us there which was very nice. We recommend this tour. It's a good opportunity to learn about the plant life of St Lucia.

Lovely, tranquil tropical gardens, with interesting colored waterfall and steaming mineral baths. The gardens are fairly extensive and include educational exhibits, lists of birds seen in the area, etc. Well worth a visit.

The gardens are very beautiful. You don't need a tour guide because there are signs all over about every plant.

Recently went to the Botanical Gardens on part of an island tour that I had done while on a cruise ship.

It was very pretty and nice to just walk through. You could see all different kinds of tropical plants and hear the sounds of running water from the waterfall. This is a nice place to stroll through if you have the time while visiting St. Lucia.

I loved the Diamond Botanical Gardens. I was impressed with the variety of tropical plants. The waterfall at the end was also quite pretty. We went with a tour and requested a guide. You don't have to have a formal tour of the gardens, but I would suggest it. Our guide was Alexander (he called himself Alexander the Great). He was a certified expert on tropical plants and had an entertaining style of presentation. Entry into the Garden costs $4 (US) a person. The guides are not paid, so you need to give them a tip at the end of the tour. It takes about 45 minutes. Bring bug spray if (like me) you are the type who gets bitten.
