If your idea of fun is going to a mineral baths with 100 other people - this is definitely not for you. But if your idea of relaxation is to experience quiet solitude by way of a warm and friendly dip in a mineral pool - without the crowds - then this is the one! Right in the middle of the rain forest and reached by a little trail and gentle cascading stream, New Jerusalem is what St lucia is all about. A real treat!

What a find! Great warm springs in the middle of the rainforest.

It's non-touristy, repeat, non-touristy (unless a local guide brings a troupe of people there - which was the case when we were, thankfully, already leaving...).

You have to walk a bit through the rainforest to get there but that adds to the charm of seeking out this great spot... And you kind of feel like you're in on a local secret...

Located in the town of Soufriere, this hidden gem host three warm mineral baths at 3 different temperatures. I arrived really early and so I was the only one in the bath, which I loved. Unlike other mineral baths, New Jerusalem doesn't have really large crowds. This makes the experience much more personal and private. The short downhill hike and river crossing is beautiful and lush before reaching the bath. Great if you want to experience local relaxation in the rainforest.

The trail to the baths is like something out of the jungle book; dense foliage, a river traversed by a log, and silence with the exception of birds. The entrance fee was $8 p.p. There are 3 baths in an idyllic setting; one small & cold, 2 other larger ones: warm and hot. The water flows downhill into the baths via bamboo pipes. There are vines and plants growing everywhere. The baths are built into a hill with great views. Great spot to relax!

I appreciate the tips from prior Tripadvisor contributors on this hidden attraction. Follow the directions given in other reviews and you can't miss it. The 1/2 mile hike through the jungle to get there is scenic and fun. Although it would be difficult to do if you had ambulatory issues or had very small children.
There is a rustic set of three changing rooms and an outhouse. There really isn't a good place to leave your backpacks and towels, etc. So we just brought ours out and put them next to the pools.

The pools are clean and vary in temperature. The natural hot mineral water runs down the mountain and comes out in a fairly forceful waterfall/flow through some bamboo sluices. You can get right under it for an excellent massage !

All around you is the unspoiled beauty of the jungle. We were the only two people in the pools during the 45 minutes we were there (around 2 PM on a weekday). Paid our $7.50 EC per person fee to the gate keeper as we were leaving.

I'm not sure where else in the world you could find a natural, unspoiled attraction like this. Take advantage of it (and support the local economy) while you can!
