“Best Dinner in St. Lucia!”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

We had a fabulous dinner at Jade Mountain! When we first called, we could not get a reservation because they said they were full but agreed to put us on their wait list. Then the conceirge for our villa called and we got a 6:30 reservation. (Interestingly, the restaurant was never full when we were there for over 2 hours.) The road to Jade is a bit bumpy but worth the effort. We arrived as the sun was setting and the view was stunning! From the water and below this hotel does not look that interesting but when you get up there it is amazing! The food was innovative and every morsel was delicious. It was $85 per person for four courses. The menu appears to change daily. That night the island fish cakes and beef curry for starters were both delicious. Then we tried the pear salad and bloody Mary salad. Both were good but the pear salad was the best. For entrees we tried the dorado and the NY strip. We didn't leave a bite on our plates! For dessert we had the bananna split, tiramisu, and the chocolate fondant (a molten chocolate cake). No bite was left on the plate but the bananna split and chocolate cake were the favorites. It was a splurge but definitely one worth taking!

“Cuisine as superb as the view”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

The fresh fish is often exotic and the preparation of the vegetables and fruits from their own organic farm is excellent. If you purchase an all-in plan, all mixed drinks are included, both here and on the beach and at the other restaurants of the resort. However wine is limited to a few decent reds and whites.

“Fantastic View - Great Food”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

Although we were staying in a private villa on St. Lucia we decided to drive the rutty, twisty dirt road from Soufriere to Anse Chastanet/Jade and see if we could take a look at Jade and possibly have lunch there. The facility itself is beautiful, unique and stunning. The security guard at the bottom of the hill called in our request to Jade and we were given a shuttle ride up the mountain to the restaurant. The restaurant has one of the more dramatic views of the Pitons and Soufriere Bay on the island. One concern is what effect the "Freedom Bay Resort/Development" will have on spoiling the pristine view. I'm not sure I would want to pay "Jade Mt." prices to look at a massive hotel across the bay.

Our lunch was very well prepared. Service was friendly, attentive and relatively quick without making you feel rushed. You can tell everyone working here takes pride in making Jade a top destination and experience for their guests (even temporary ones like we were). Lunch for two - appetizers, water, a sandwhich, salad w/fish and one desert) - ran about $95 US with tip - not cheap. But the quality of the ingredients and preparation along with the first-class service and The View certainly was well worth the price.

“Serene...scenic...romantic”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

We signed up for MAP (breakfast and dinner) while staying at the Jade Mountain Resort. We are early eaters – breakfast at 7am and dinner at 6:30pm. At breakfast, we were the only ones. While not on the menu, they do offer lattes and cappuccinos. Waiters were very attentive. As the evening dinner progressed, it got more crowded and we noticed slightly less attention around 8pm as staff had many more tables to wait on. The food was very good – serene – great staff. Unsure about gratuities since everything has a 10% service charge. We know they grow their own organic vegetables, fruits and flowers (Emerald Estate owned by Anse Chastanet). They say the fish is all fresh, including lobster. If you are not staying at the resort, it would be difficult to secure a reservation...limited number of tables.

“time to re charge your batteries”

Amazing views - fab service - the food was wonderful - nature all around. The boat transfer was more pleasant than the car transfer to and from the airport - you get to see the wonderful mix of coastline.
